Welcome to the forum, sorry but no better news from my side. Saw that listing and hoped nobody would fall for it.

806 is the Navitimer, a "normal" 12 hour watch.
809 is the Cosmonaute, a 24 hour watch.

This is neither, far from NOS, but a pathetic Frankenwatch, case is a 806, dial is a 809, no way of knowing what the movement is, whether a 12h or 24h version (Craig and Roff might, by just looking at the gears).

Dial and hands are from a GP Cosmonaute and totally wrong for the SS case, produced in 1967.

It might be "never worn" after being assembled from mismatched components, none of them NOS, btw., even the sliderule ring seems a (good) repainting, but wrong for 1967 production.

Worthless as a watch, some value as a donor; even the "original box" is wrong as are several other claims in the listing - and the price would be too high even for a perfect 1967 Navitimer.

File a "not as described" case, you should have no problem to cancel this purchase.

Just back from vacation, what a piece of junk, I hope buyer can get his money back.

Guys,

I REALLY appreciate all the feedback you have provided me regarding this purchase.

The watch is clearly misrepresented, and I will seek a full refund of my purchase.

I don't think I'll have any problems getting my money back, but I am rather frustrated and disappointed in Swiss Watch Expo for making false claims on this watch. I hope they didn't do this intentionally, and they are simply uneducated about vintage Navitimers, but I still think it's pretty sh*tty of them to have advertised this watch they way they did. I'll let you guys know if I run into any problems with the refund, or if they challenge any of the things I will be sure to point out to them regarding the accuracy of the watch they sold me.

I am now back on the hunt for a mint condition 1960's Navitimer or Cosmonaute (Navitimer preferred). Stainless steel is also my preference, but I would definitely consider a solid 18K gold one if it was a near perfect example.

If any of you know of a watch out there fitting the description above, PLEASE private message me.

Thanks again so much for steering me away from this Frankenwatch! I am grateful to this community! :lingsrock:

Tom, all the best with your search. I would stay away from Ebay unless you were experienced enough to judge a watch or have consulted with members on the forum here before buying. You could try checking with Kurt here too if he has a mint condition one for sale, let us know how you go!

well, we now know exactly how honest and reliable Swiss Watch Expo are, the watch was relisted at the same price and with the same bull description - a seller to avoid.

Hello everyone. I am new to this site. I found site while I was looking for any information on a vintage "Cosmonaute" and found this thread. I found this thread particularly interesting because the watch is still for sale on their web site. Look at link below. I have an apartment near the "Swiss Watch Expo" and visited shop after finding out about store online back in November 2013. I actually thought about buying merchandise from them. I now know that they cannot be trusted and that if I ever do make a purchase with them I have to REALLY do my research.
