Greetings to y'all Breitling fans. I am a new member to the forum and decided to join after acquiring a lovely and mint jupiter pilot from a store in Madrid. It is a really fabulous time piece and came in a lovely original box. However, it did not come with a booklet and I have no idea on how to set the date, time plus the many functions. The store guy that sold it to me was able to sort the time and date but I need an original booklet to go with it to complete my acquisition quest. I know of a website http://kronometric.org/review/jp/jp.html that has some information on the Miyota Cal. 3S10 (same movement as Breitling Jupiter Pilot), but this is only a tip of the iceberg.
Does anyone know where I can source an original booklet?

I have a Jupiter Pilot, my first Breitling purchased back in 1992 and just back from a full service and it looks like new. Agree that it is quite a lovely timepiece!

Hope you get a booklet, however to get you going here are some basic instructions. There are three buttons, top left (TL), top right (TR) and bottom left (BL) along with the alarm button on the middle right (MR) and the crown on the bottom right.

Setting date - pull the crown out once, and move it round to change the date. Normal caution with regards the time for calendar watches, i.e. do not alter the date between something around 10pm - 3am.

Setting time - Pull the crown out fully; once is for the date as above, twice is for the time setting. The second hand will move to 12 o'clock and stay there; move the crown round in the usual way to set the time. Press the crown in to start the time going.

Stopwatch - unlike the usual Breitling chronograph watches which have a seperate second hand for the chrono, the Jupiter has just one second hand. So this needs setting to zero. Press the BR to get the second hand to go to 12 o'clock, then the TR to start the stopwathch. The 1/50 second hand moves around (pretty cool) once a second, but stops after 3 minutes; the stopwatch still goes, however. To stop, press TR again. The 1/50 hand will show the fraction of a second. Press the TL to reset the stopwatch. Press BL to make the second hand go to the normal seconds time again.

Alarm - pull the MR button out and pull the crown out once (as if you are going to set the date), which causes the hands to move to the set time, it will bleep to state this. Then move the crown round to set the alarm time. When set, press both the MR and the crown in to allow the watch to return to the time; the watch will bleep to state this is done. To have the alarm on, the MR button needs to be pulled out. You can test the alarm by pulling the MR button out, in then out again quickly and the alarm will sound.

Countdown timer - press the TL button to move the 1/50 hand round, but this time the numbers correspond to minutes rather than fractions of a second. When you have set the number of minutes required, press the TR to start the timer. When you get to the last fifty seconds it starts to tick off each second until it reaches zero and the alarm will sound. You can stop the alarm by pressing any of the buttons.

One of the things that is quite nice is the crown only needs to be pressed in and does not need to be screwed in for water resistance; I am not sure but I think the MR button needs to be pressed in to ensure water resistance, so you can't have the alarm on while underwater!

I think you can still get most manuals from Breitling UK for around £20.00 plus postage. I recently got one for a Chrono Avenger 69 (only 600 made). However I'm not sure if you can still get this one, Check out the price !!!!

I feel really glad that I joined this forum, I truly appreciate the responses. Thanks Simon C for the instructions to keep me going. happy_chappie, vintage; much appreciated, I missed the booklet on eBay by only 12 days. Months before, I checked eBay and found others like the Breitling Navitimer 50th Anniversary (which I hurriedly purchased and later discovered it's different and cannot return to seller). I will keep checking eBay every week and maybe I will get lucky. Thanks to all for responses.
