After a long day at work, I was a little tired and lazy and inadvertently swung my wrist against a metal file cabinet (usually I'm very mindful about where I swing my arm if there are walls or cabinets near my watch). Ended up with a noticeable ding on the chimney of my Breitling. Argggghhh! Couldn't wait to get home to try to polish it out with my Cape Cod cloths. Lol.

Well, after strategically placing scotch tape to mask off the areas where I didn't want to polish further (crystal and bezel,...and 1.5 hours later, I managed to get out the entire ding mark. All's well in the universe again. Lol. I'll be more careful in the future, but man I wish I wasn't so darned OCD about my watches! :)

Pic of restored chimney (ding was exactly at the 10 minute mark)...wish I took a before pic, but was too upset at the time...

It's that metal ring that sits between the crystal and the bezel. So, the ring of metal where the metal rider tabs hover over.

This evening my 11 year old came up to me with her Macbook laptop to give me a hug goodnight and my Navi brushed against the laptop's alloy case. What followed in the next few miliseconds could only be described as something similar to the beginings of a nuclear chain reaction.
My daughter is well aware of her old man's obsession with watches hence she immediately reacted with a shocked "Sorry Daddy!".
The only thing I could respond with was a smile and "No problem darling. Is your computer OK? Good night and sweet dreams, it's just a watch."
Now, where did I put my magnifying glass???

I don't even like when people touch my watch being fully polished. It's already hard enough keeping it smudge free without people's dirty hands touching it. Do people constantly try to touch your watch and does it drive you crazy?

imagine how i still feel when i had a crash whit my motorcycle wearing my chrono avenger :( still hurting 1 year later

i still have faith that when serviced they will buff it all out

another thing when anyone ask to check your watch why do they always put the big finger on the glass?? its a like a magnet they have to put the finger on the glass errrr

Beautiful Headwind!

Mate of mine shaved his wrist so the hairs would not scratch the back of his watch. He is CDO. (OCD but in the correct order!)

@Wessa, I totally can relate. My 4 year old has banged his toys against my watch several times. Each time I always pretend nothing happened, but then inspect the watch thoroughly afterwards. Lol.

As for smudge marked from people touching it, I don't care about that as those easily are cleaned off. It's the scratches and dings that annoy me.

I banged my SA against my fridge and got a nice dent on the 30 rider tab, not noticeable to anyone but me but it bugged the hell out of me so I had to replace the bezel. Now it looks brand new.

dont even get me started!! lmao. my stupid bro in law will try that crap when i have new watch or he forgot he has seen it before. he has a movado, but he is no where near a WIS. he saw my last new watch and the position i was in, i wasnt showing him he just saw it and grabbed.. WTF? i wasnt looking at the time so i couldnt pull it away before he got it. then i pulled away, "whats the big deal man" he says... i dont get it, regardless of being a WIS or not, i have a lot more respect for people than to just grab them etc...

I have had a couple old lady customers grab my diamond Bretlings to look at them, doesn't bother me much but they should ask just like when you have a baby, say do you mind I I touch your baby. :)

Well on a straw poll, I think we can say, at this point in time, that its unanimous. All Breitling owners suffer from COD. Or OCD if you are dyslexic like me. Oh DOG, what am I saying.
