Hi all,

As I never has any experience selling stuff here. Is that anyone know that Will I be taxed for the amount that I will receive? (either inside Canada or to Inter.)

I'm a little confused, but let me try and answer the questions that you might be asking......

If you are a visitor to Canada and make a purchase while you are in Canada then you will be charged 5% GST plus the applicable PST (or the combined HST depending on province / territory). You can obtain a form either through the AD or at the point of departure from Canada to claim that tax back from Revenue Canada. You will however be liable to sales taxes and potentially duty in your own country (not sure where that is).

If you buy from a Canadian seller and have the item shipped internationally then (depending on the AD) you will be either charged GST only, or no tax at all. Again the GST should be refundable. You will still be liable for sales taxes and any import duty in your own country and the shipping company will also likely charge you a handling / admin fee for processing the tax / duty.

Actually,my case is now I already have a blt watch(which I bought from here and I paid for those huge amount of 2 taxes already). Then now I m thinking to sell this BLT but the buyer is in U.S

So the Question is once I got the money from the buyer, Do you think the Tax dept. here in Canada gonna ask me to pay any tax again as I got the money from selling this used watch???

It sounds like you are asking if you need to declare income tax on the private sale of your Breitling, the short answer is no, not if you did not sell it for more than you paid.

I got that idea sir that I seem not have to pay for the tax(b/c I gonna sell less than I paid at the dealer/original price)

Anyhow once again, that due to now I m not a Canadian citizen either so, Is this gonna be absolutely not have to concern or further worry right??

If you are a landed resident - i.e. a permanent resident of Canada but a citizen of another country, then the rules are no different than if you were a citizen, and as admin says, no profit, no liability.

If you are a visa / temporary resident then it's more complicated. It all comes down to where you pay your income tax - if you are deemed to be a Canadian taxpayer then Canadian tax law applies, if on the other hand you pay income tax to your country of citizenship then the law of that country applies. Generally the rules are the same - no profit, no liability, but you will need to check.

Also be aware that you can be assessed liable for income tax in both countries if you aren't careful. Not that big an issue in this situation because Canada won't cause you a tax liability, but from a general tax perspective it is always best to make your taxation country as clear as possible.

I think I got an idea so, that mean i think I dont have to worry because I neither the Canadian permanent residence(landed imm). So I just a visitor here actually...

However, I m going to apply for that permanent residece here soon. Then in the future I also dont have to worry if I might have to sell a used watch again right? For my origiante country, I think they are too busy to come to follow me.....

That's correct under two conditions:

1) You don't make a profit on the sale
2) You are selling personally

If you make a profit then you have to pay income tax on the profit, and if you run a business selling watches (or if Revenue Canada can argue that is what you are doing) then you are liable to all of those fun taxes.
