they typically sell well below $30; so a decent deal - without fake markings

I got that blue strap from this faker back in May, so I'm well past the 45 day Payment Protection on PayPal - however, it has let me open a case against him, so we'll see how that goes...he's got until 20 July to reply, so I'll update as and when.

Wow, quick (and very welcome) reply through e-bay from super_joopp:

"'Sorry for the trouble I caused you, I was under the impression that you were aware of the fact that these are aftermarket products. I will of course make a full refund of all payments. Send it back to: Joop Nijhof (address supplied), Groningen The Netherlands.'"

Nowhere in his listings does it mention that the straps are aftermarket, but at least he appears to want to do the right thing. I'll ship this back to him today (by tracked mail!), and see what happens.

The cynic in me says that he just takes the path of least resistance for the small percentage of buyers who complain.

I'm sure you're right Roff. Of course, the longer he can maintain his 100% rating, the better it looks for his potential customers.

However, he's sent me the refund already (I haven't returned the strap yet), so a relatively happy ending (at least from my perspective). Could have been much worse.

Agreed, it would cause him more problems to fight you because you both know they are fake. Foe those that don't know, I'm sure he's more than happy to take their money.

I learned my lesson; search this forum before buying anything from ebay. I did buy a strap from the dutchman for a winning bid of $330. Today, one hour ago, after reading this discussion I opened a dispute on ebay and also emailed the seller directly. Thirty minutes later, I received an email from ebay saying that a 100% refund has been made. The seller doesn't even want the fake back.

I dodged a bullet on this one :guns: :guns:

That's great to hear, $330 for a $2 strap would suck!
