This Premier is a watch that I love (not my favourite but one of). I'd like to know more about it. I have looked through threads on this forum and see no reference to a 782. The number is 634925 Please don't shatter all my illusions but can someone tell me something. Yes, it's worn but I DO wear it. Many thanks in anticipation, Mark.Image

welcome to the forum and I hope not to shatter illusions, but you say you know it is "wrong", so you do have some info about it ?

case and potentially movement (should be a Venus 175, you might post pics for verification) are from a 1945 Premier ref. 782, dial is refinished (and not too well, logo is wrong for the period), hands are incorrect replacements.

there's a thread here with a correct ref. 782 if you are interested: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=47865

Ironically, it was the black face and numerals that attracted me to the watch.. As I said, I'm very ignorant about them, but learning quickly... It's nice to know it's of 1940s vintage and I won't be in a hurry to change anything until I have to. I was told by Brisbane Vintage Watches that the face was incorrect but that's all I knew.

Apart from the face, I hope it's a watch that is of good standing. I enjoy it and I believe that's all that matters.

:-)

Thanks for input thus far..

Mark.

Looking at pictures of a 'true' 782, I'm now wondering if mine could be / should be restored to it's former glory and if so, by whom and what sort of cost would I expect to pay..?

Mark.

I highly doubt that the Heists will agree to work on that piece.

Also, while Mark's work is very good, our own Craig does excellent work without the wait time or prices of Mark.

and even Mark Heist will most probably not have a correct replacement dial and correct hands; you'll need a lot of luck to find those, dial will be close to impossible. continue to enjoy it as it is.
