Saw them in the flesh at my AD last night..

Here is what I saw.

SuperAvenger II

1) SAII is still polished, not brushed.

2) SAII is BIGGER than the previous SA. It appears to be 49.5mm now. It is also longer lug to lug. It is a thinner case now, looks to be around 16mm instead of 18mm on the old watch...

3) Bezel has much larger pearl and larger rider tabs. It also has the minutes engraved in the bezel.

4) Pro III Bracelet doesn't taper. It seems to be 26mm lugs with totally different endlinks than the PROII. So, they are obviously not interchangeable with the old SA.

Overall? I hate it. It now overhangs my 8" wrist and the thinner profile actually makes it look cheaper and feel than the previous model. The ProIII bracelet is ok, but the tapering to 22mm on the SAI was easier on the wrist...

If you thought the SAI was too small, then this is your huckleberry, but imho, this redesign is a flop....

Let's make this easy...here's the pics Fleetlord is speaking about. It is definitely larger. The case is wider and longer but thinner. It causes the dial to not sit as deep and changed the entire look, feel and wrist presence.

I see nothing to dispute what Breitling are saying the specs are (and I tend to think that they should know). I definitely don't see a 26mm non tapering bracelet.

Look at the lug comparisons in the third picture. You really don't see the difference in size of the endlinks? Really? The Arabic dial is the SAII. Stick dial is SAI. 26mm is a guestimate, granted, maybe 25mm, but is most definitely larger..

No worries, I'll get a pic of the full length bracelet soon enough. If it has any taper, it is slight...much less so than the Pro II. The clasp is very wide in comparison...

I've held the watch in my hands and had it on my wrist........The changes in dimensions are quite substantial...

Very interested in seeing one in the flesh as I'm considering upgrading my SA1 for it.

Does it wear more like a Bentley watch since its thinner now?

Any chance of some wrist pics Fleetlord?

Roff,

After seeing the pictures that Nixmazda posted, it's hard to understand your position?

If the watches pictured are authentic, there appears to be a size increase in both case size and lug width.

Pictures can frequently be deceiving and frankly I look at the source of information when considering my willingness to believe. A quick look through Fleetlord's previous posts is all that's needed to understand my scepticism. Nixmazda is a reliable source and I look forward to his measurements.

It's abundantly clear that roff hasn't seen the SA II in person, so I wouldn't put any weight into his biased "skepticism". The Breitling specs are incorrect.

It's a larger watch than the previous model. It is thinner but slightly wider, with wider lugs and bracelet.

It wears differently, so if you're in the market for a SA it's something to consider..

I will take some measurements today at my store for everyone as well as wrist shots. Also, Fleetlord is a very good friend of mine and tried these exact pieces pictured in my store. Stand by guys!

Interesting......I kinda like the thinner case, but not a big fan of the new bracelet. I tried on an Avenger GMT and it had the same new bracelet, and was a bit more "dressy" than sporty. One thing to consider is the optical illusion that since it is thinner, it may appear wider.....I tend to go with the Breitling posted specs, as appearances may be deceiving.
