Hello.
I bought a 2002 Headwind online and revieved it will all papers including COSC, inner/outer boxes, warranty card and manual.
I understand the headwind didnt start putting the serial number on the back below the model number until later, so I had it checked and the serial number was on the movement inside.

The bracelet that came on it is stamped 970A, which came from the Bentley line and isn't original to this watch...BUT, the lug width on the Headwind is 22 and the 970A is 24...so it seems the bracelet is a fake??

Can anyone confirm that the 970A did or didn't come in a 22-20...or only ever made as I found in a 24-20.

Appreciate any help...I used this site to research, but now I'm in need of help confirming.

If the paperwork wasnt there, I would start to worry about the head being a fake too!

Thanks!

BTW; I was worries about how big the glass bubbles...even though it looks like sapphire, if you were to lie the watch on its face, the crystal would touch in the centre.

A couple folks said this doesn't mean it was not real...but if anyone remembers this watch and confirm, that would be very much appreciated.

Suggest you wander on down to a Breitling dealer or service Ctr and check. If eBay, lodge a claim quickly if it is a fake.

Do not try to remove anything from the watch, bracelet incl, or Paypal will refuse your claim.

Thanks, haven't taken anything off and closest authorized centre is 2 hour drive.
Local jeweler that sells Breitling, Rolex, etc., opened back in front of me and on camera just to see serial was a match.

Unless fakes can have a serial put in the head is real.
Again, not taken apart by breitling to verify.

The band is more what I want to confirm...I can return it anyways because its not as was described as all original...but PayPal would want proof if its a fake claim.
I don't mind doing the drive if that's what it takes on a return...but I want to know the 970A is a fake before making the trip.

Thanks.

There should be a serial number on the case (although grey market dealers used to remove). 970a is only a 24/20 Speed bracelet for the 6.75. As others have said post pictures and we'll soon tell you.

Looking at the watch face, the Breitling logo appears to be printed. There should be divisions between the minutes, which I can't see. The experts will be giving their verdict soon, but it doesn't look too good to me.

The watch is real, but check is the serial# there also.
Don't know how he managed to put 970A or is the bracelet real.

The logo doesn't seem printed, it is definitely an applied emblem and from what I see both lines on the wings.

That is the point on the bracelet, this is what set me off, as I was looking for an extra link to fit me after I bought it and everything Headwind sent me to a pilot bracelet. Then I found out its a speed, based on the 970A punched on it and further research I found it only came in a 24-20 and this is 22 between lugs.

Thanks all...what about that super dome on the crystal? Most Headwinds I've looked at are almost flat if they have the beveled crystal...this one is very bubbled, as that pic shows.
