Do they do some other test to see if water is inside the case? Temperature shock?
What does water damage look like inside? Corrosion or issues with the lube?

Pressure test causing more damage doesn't make a lot of sense - I get the fact that subjecting the watch to pressure can force water into places that it can do damage, but the materials that would be susceptible to that would already be damaged.

Visible signs of water damage will be some combination of corrosion and damaged lume (SL degrades with water), but there may well be non visible signs like the migration of oils from where they are needed.

Why would it of mattered if they had pressure tested the watch and some of the water already in it, was moved around inside a bit. Surely the watch was due a complete strip down to check for water damage, any way.
With out that pressure test, how can you prove that the water getting in was not your fault.
Once the watch is repaired, a pressure test then is meaningless in regard to the initial water damage, because you would have hoped that any suspect seals and gaskets would have been changed.

Does it matter if they tested or not or if it can be proven that it was a user's fault or not?
The watch was out of warranty.
Breitling recommends gaskets to be changed every two years and a pressure test every year.

I’m sorry Wessa I did not know that Breitling recommended a gasket change after 2 years  .
Has anyone reading this had just a gasket change because of a potential failure, and if so, how much did it cost.

Breitling does that as part of a maintenance service (not to be confused with complete overhaul service)
