One thing to note is I don't think the new ones are not as thick. May be more attractive to some, and others will no doubt shy away. The new Avenger II (Skyland type chrono) is also coming out. Again, I don't believe they are as thick as the current models.

This is because they have started listening... They have listened to the feedback not to use buck rogers font... So they decided to try something else unique. There should be a poll voting what fonts to use in their future models. For all you know you will see them next year...

All new Avengers are slightly thinner, the new Avenger GMT is considerably slimmer than standard Avenger series, much closer to the Aerospace depth of case which is quite a surprise

That's what I thought. Personally I like the current thickness, but I will wait untill i see one in person to see if I really like it.

Seriously?? That would be a hell of an enema. The recent Avengers are, what, mostly 18mm, while the Aerospace is 10.4mm, so that's getting on for half the previous thickness.

:uplaugh: Enema?! Quite possibly, you meant enigma.

Anyway, I got quite a chuckle out of that one!

Cheers,

Wondering if a baton version with no Arabic numbers will also be available, as it looks sharper to me (less cluttered) in the current generation.

I personally prefer the squared tip to the arrow tip on the seconds hand, as the square reminds me of the symbol used in a submarine when identifying enemies, and calculating a torpeado solution, in tune with the whole avenger seawolf theme.

Like most good things in life, I personally find that a fair amount of thickness and weight is not a bad thing. My wife happens to agree.

Do we know prices and dial colours? Any chance that they produce the stratus silver dial, as this is discontinued on the current version?

I get why they have the fonts like that on the bezel. It's to have all the markers but not sure why on the dial.

I like it too. However as Supra pointed out, the 4's not matching would bug me a little. Other than that a nice looking piece.

I could live with the font, but it could be better.

But...

I've always thought the dial on this one looks off-balance, it looks heavy in the south-corner. Baton dial is better on this IMHO.

I like the dial font, but I'd agree that the bezel font just blends into the other markers. Not much of an issue as I'd never go diving with it anyway. It would just be a niggle.

I'd be far more irritated by the poorly finished crown. Looks like its been machined with a blunt tool then over polished!

Price has gone up by 7.2%, and yet the dial colour range has been reduced by half: from six colours to three. Bye bye blue, silver and standard black. Blue and silver dials now appear on the GMT only. The choice in straps has also been drastically reduced: no more crocs, which used to be available in seven colours: black, blue, brown, golden brown, burgundy, camel and green.

Batons on the standard Seawolf II (no GMT) are only available in black, whereas they used to be made in black, blue and silver on the previous Seawolf.

The new yellow dial is now called "Cobra Yellow", and seems more intense and vivid than the previous lighter yellow. I prefer this punchier and sportier yellow!!! A baton version would be fantastic...

Am glad I managed to snatch one of the last stratus silver with batons before the unfortunate changes.

The case is less thick than #I. You can see this because #I has straight case edge at the lugs whereas #II has curved case edge at the lugs and is flush against the lugs and bracelet end link. Also #I Seawolf case is thicker at the crown guard where it's swallowing the crown, and on #II Seawolf it's case ends where the crown guard extends from the case on out to the crown.

This makes the Seawolf II case more in line with the newer Aeromarines' cases if you see the similarities on the cases' slimmer lines.
