Wow, now I see it, I don't believe it. Man thats huge! Thanks Dr. J for pointing out the site.

Its not the bezel diameter, its the depth of the case. Of course, it is not that heavy from the listing, so its full of electrronics.

Yes, it won't be that heavy as it is made of titanium - my Emergency is actually very nice to wear. However the new one will be just too big, not really for civillians TBH. I think Breitling have really designed it purely for pilots and/or other people that geniunely need the transmitter function rather than having the watch as just a nice thing to wear for the general public.

I'd have an excuse to wear it for work (aeromedical retrieval) but even then it would look ridiculous even over my flight suit. Think I'll be getting an E1 instead :)

Yes, the thought had crossed my mind that this would be the case. I totally agree with you & pleased this may be the case. My argument is that you are unlikely to need rescuing in a boardroom, unless its a hostel takeover.

I hope you never need to use the emergency feature in your work. Stay safe.

On the other hand... It might save you from getting bored when in a boardroom... At a cost that is. With all I subconsciously fiddle with my clasps, I think the alarm going off randomly would be a very realistic risk if I had such a watch.

Yes, very funny Fred. I hope the clasp is not a euphemism for something else. :) :)

I think SimonC and Dr.J have a point though, and by the sounds of it you and I would appear to agree with them. There seems no logical point to this watch unless you can use the on board tool for a good reason. I can't see myself getting one of these under my cuff and would never find myself in a situation where they transmitter would be a life saver for me. My Iphone is so heavily tracked anyway, it seems almost impossible (on land at any rate) to escape monitoring.

Playing with a strong cylinder formed body-extension until it goes off... Well now you mention it, it really is strange we don't see red antenna wires shooting from people's wrists more often... and thats without regard to the spidermanesque coolness of it all...

Instruments for profess... Golly this is going downhill...

I still think its a stunning watch, but Im not sure Id want to take such an expensive watch rock climbing!

Does rather put the size in perspective though...

My wife's response: What?!? You just pull the transmitter and then a helicopter takes you away leaving the woman stranded in the mountains?

Maybe Breitling needs to market this at the 'bad first date' market, or even the 'argument with wife' market.

As much as I love the styling of the E2, the more I see it the more I think it's just too large, with the main problem being the thickness. Yes it's a cool piece of kit, but well over half that enormous thickness is taken up by something that 99% of us will never need (thank goodness).... and £12k GBP is a lot to pay for something that is likely to be so totally impractical for most "desk pilots". I really think this watch is going to be a hard sell.
