Hello all. I came across you fine people while researching something that recently came into my possession. I have obtained a Breitling Super Avenger A13370 manufactured in 2011. It has a factory diamond Bezel. The watch came into my establishment in poor condition. Band tore off, And deep scuffs in the case back and side of the case where the pushers and crown are. which makes me think it took a hard dive on some sort of pavement. The crown no longer screws down against the case back. but it seems to be keeping accurate time and the sapphire crystal is flawless. I would like to get the watch repaired for my own personal collection but i am unsure if Breitling USA will overhaul the watch for me and if so at what cost. I know i can buy a replacement Pro 2 band on ebay for around $500 give or take a couple hundred. But the watch will still need a case and case back new crown and at least 1 new pusher. can anyone tell me what i can do with this and if Breitling will repair the watch for me and at what cost? I can provide better pictures to anyone who would like to see them upon request. The only thing i can say is it is a shame to see such a beautiful item so poorly cared for.

I think that we are going to need some better pictures than that - based on those, I'm not even convinced that it's real.

I have other photos but i feel these show the face of the watch and the damage on the case and case back the best. The watch has a laser etched serial number as well. It is not stamped in. I feel 100% confident this is genuine.

That's better!

It is real, and I see no reason why Breitling can't address it. It may need a new middle case and caseback, but am sure that it can be done. Cost is anybody's guess, but Breitling can provide a quote. They'll insist on a full service as well because of disassembly so likely cost is probably $800 - $1,000, but as I say - it's guesswork.

I have questions.....

1. Should i buy and install a Pro2 band on this before shipping it off to breitling (assuming they will accept it for repair) what would happen if i sent it in without a band? would they install a band for me and charge me a much higher cost than what i could buy one on my own for?

2. Will the diamond bezel be a problem? Should I remove it before i send the watch in? (i do not have any other bezel for it)

3. Also the watch may need a new outer case becasue there is some damage to it as you may be able to tell from the previous photos.

i don't know. i can tell you i see the same diamond bezels on ebay listed as breitling bezels with diamonds not set by breitling. it does have the tritium dot on the top. it also has the breitling b on the side by one of the screws. when i got the watch the bezel would not ratchet or move at all. i was able to fix it by repositioning the bezel spring the process went smooth as butter.

here are a few more photos:

It looks like an aftermarket bezel to me - i.e. real bezel, aftermarket diamonds. To the specific questions:

1) I wouldn't worry about strap / bracelet Breitling aren't going to do that
2) Check first - explain the situation and they may be OK
3) As I noted in my reply above, it may need a new middle case (that's the bit between bezel and caseback)

UPDATE:

I called BUSA this morning and the watch is en route to them as we speak for evaluation. Nicole was very nice over the phone in taking the time to answer all my questions. Now it is up to the technicians to give me a quote on what the repairs will cost. She said the quote should be back to me within a couple of days after receiving the watch and they would let me know. I will report back to you all with my findings.

UPDATE:

So breitling is going to fix my watch. $1511.30 buys me a new midcase, caseback, crown, pushers, proII bnad, and makes sure my watch is running correctly. when i get everything back i will post before/after pix as well as an itemized invoice. I was not required to take the full service. just the basic service. And i was not required to take the case back, pushers, or band they were all optional.
