I like it better than the UniTime Blacksteel but that's not saying much as I'm just not a Blacksteel fan in general. The chronomat is no good. They must have heaps of DLC left.

No black steel does it for me, so nope and nope on both accounts.

I am not a fan of any type of Navi with DLC. It's like those blacked-out Rolexes.......BUT the Chronomat GMT isn't bad. It will wear smaller than 47mm since it's DLC, but the only drawback as Roff pointed out is that it makes the legibility of the bezel difficult. Not bad though. The rest of it really pops with the red accents. :D

I like this Cosmonaute, better than the SS version actually, probably has to do with the matching black sub-dials and red accents, very readable. Blacksteel is not an issue, more to a pilots liking for me.

That's sort of sad. Would of course have to see it in person, but BS on a Navi... That's just total BS... Well the other one...

The Chronomat looks pretty good to me. Cosmonaute not so much.

+1, my sentiments exactly. I think the Chronomat looks great and I'd certainly consider one. The Cosmonaute? Dear god no.

Not to naysay but I think that would look good on the wrist. Everyone is rocking yellow or rose gold, or even stainless and platinum. This is actually a classy blacked out version. Granted not for everyone; they are entitled to their own ideals. That looks good though... A change from what everyone has already seen. I like it!

Just got the Marketing e-mail on this one so resurrecting the thread.

A little better than what we have come to expect from Breitling Marketing of late (although someone needs to tell them that it's not 2012)......

Intersidereal darkness

The first spacegoing wrist chronograph enters a new orbit with an exclusive and technical all-black version issued in a worldwide 1,000-piece limited series.

On May 24th 1962, Lt Commander Scott Carpenter orbited the earth three times aboard the Aurora 7 capsule. On his wrist was a Navitimer featuring a 24-hour graduation serving to distinguish day from a night – an absolute necessity in space. This space conquest pioneer joined the Breitling collections under the name Cosmonaute. 50 years after its first flight in 2012, the Navitimer Cosmonaute is pursuing its odyssey in a new and highly original version featuring a case in black steel created using a highly resistant carbon-based coating. The dial and counters of this high-performance chronograph are in the same black color, enhanced by luminescent indications and small red hands. The Manufacture Breitling Caliber B02, chronometer-certified by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute) features two key characteristics true to the original model: a manual winding system and a 24-hour display. The famous Navitimer circular slide rule enables pilots to perform the entire range of calculations relating to airborne navigation directly on the wrist. The engraved caseback bears the official Aurora 7 mission insignia. Issued in a numbered 1,000- piece limited series, the Navitimer Cosmonaute Blacksteel is fitted with a black rubber strap further enhancing its tech-savvy, masculine appearance.

In my opinion, All these black watches are a fad.

You LOVE them when you buy it, then get sick of it a month later.

I'll pass!

I think it's pretty sweet! But why can't they do a black steel bracelet?? Who wants rubber on a Navitimer?
