It says Swiss made on the face at the bottom and the jewelry shop I took it to said it was a 21 jewel. It's a old watch that's for sure.

doesn't mean anything as many watches are made in Swiss and many more were repainted to say 'Swiss'

most watches were 17 jewels as there was (is?) an extra import duty into the USA on watches > 17 jewels
but 21 jewels still doesnt make it a Breitling

And age makes it a Breitling ?

It looks nothing like a real Breitling, the dial looks brand new (because it is), and it looks very similar to the hundreds of similar watches that come out of South America every month.

Maybe the pic makes it look better than it does, cuz it doesn't look brand new at all you can see the age and wear in the whole piece. But if u guys say it not then I guess I'll trash it

iirc this piece was quite recently listed on ebay ?
the dial is clearly refinished; if you post additional pics of caseback and movement, we could tell whether any parts of this watch are authentic.

Yes, it is gettin serviced and refinished, when I get it back ill post some. Could you guys tell me what to look for on the inside of a 1920s watch? The jeweler said it was real with original movement, so it it's fake and they are lying to me I'm gonna be pissed and out alot more money

It may be an old movement, but that doesn't mean it's an old Breitling - lots of old watches out there, most produced by no name brands.

Post photos when you get the watch back and if I were you I would try and stop the watchmaker doing any more work on it - you might well be throwing more money away.

You need to post photos so that people with knowledge and experience can tell you - there isn't a simple check that you can do. However, I will say now that the chances of any part of that watch ever being anywhere near a Breitling factory are miniscule.

I just don't wanna foot the bill to the jeweler if its fake and they lied to me. They told me with that watch being that old and that good of cond. 21 jewel with orignal movement it would be worth 3-5k. If it fake I'm not payin them a dime!
