I am new to the forum and have read a lot of the of the posts. I have been burning my eyes at the Breitling site considering which one next? I love the Cronomat 44 GMT. However I have been eyeballing the Transocean Unitime or better the Transocean Cronograph 1461. I love the complications with moon phases and perpetual calendars! My post is to get ur opinions on the Transocean as their does not appear to have been much of a discussion on this model. If I did not search well just beat the newbie !

Like them both a lot...have tried on the unitime and it wears smaller than the size might suggest. I too love the complications of the 1461. Both are a bit spendy for my budget. Good luck with the decision.

Unitime could have been great, as it is I'll take the original over the new one. 1461 is nice, but wouldn't be the watch that I would buy if I were going to spend that much coin. The regular TO / TOC are nice pieces though.

I like the look and the size of the 1461 better than the unitime. And I think the regular transocean chrono is one of the most beautiful watches if it fits your wrist properly. I tried one on and the long lug length just looked a bit odd on my wrist so I had to pass. If the lugs were a little shorter I would have bought one already.

The Unitime was a big disappointment to me. So near and yet so far from being absolutely stunning. The 1461 is much nicer, although I'd rather go for the TOC and the look for a Navi Olympus to take care of the 1461 angle.

Only if they did something with that damn globe. I'm sure they could've made it look a little cooler.

I love the concept of the Unitime but no matter how long I stare it is still missing "something".

Found this (sorry not a Ling)

http://www.longines.com/watches/the-lon ... 773.5.78.7

Comes in a number of versions at a much lower cost and has the complications i am interested in. But Longines does not certify with CSOC wholly owned by Swatch (I know swatch is gigantic). and I believe ETA base. I know Swatch owns ETA and My SA has an ETA base. An email from Longines on another forum says accurate to 15 sec a week (within COSC standards). Besides on thoughts on looks can anyone advise on Longines in general (company, quality, etc.). 3-4k depending on version.

Thanks in adnance! :D

Just purchased Transocean Crono in black with black leather calf strap. My 3rd Breitling and my first with B01 caliber. Overal this is a good dress watch. Reasonably accurate for a mechanical movement - so far in 7 days it is 22 seconds ahead, well within COSC requirements. I intend use this as a formal
Things I like about the watch
Appearance
72 Hr power reserve
Classic look - will look ok in 20 years time and should hold value well

Things that I do not like
Too much glare in the glass makes hands hard to see at an angle
Glass may be easy to scratch because it's not protected by a bezel

I decided against unitime as it looks too sporty, yet doesn't have a recesses glass or a waterproofing level of a true sports watch. I didn't like 1461 either because of it's harder to read date, lower water resistance and 40hr power reserve.

Congratulations, a very very nice pick-up. For me, I buck the trend by actually liking the Unitime however also think that the Navi Olympus is the better option from a 1461 standpoint. Huge fan too of the regular TO / TOC. Wear it well!

TO and TOC are beautiful watches, probably my top pick of Breitling's current range.
The 1461 falls far behind the Navi 1461 or Navi Olympus though IMHO.
Unitime... brilliant watch, horrible dial. Hopefully they'll remodel it soon :-)
