If you leave your watch at rest (i.e. not wear it) for a day or so running on its power reserve, when you pick it up again, do you just wear it, or you wind it a bit for a boost?
...and on the same topic, does the movement of one's hand, maintain a watches power reserve at the level it was or does it help it recover it to its maximum state?

I'm a little OCD about usng the crown at all on my watches and prefer to simply rely on movement to keep the watch wound, although I do have a couple of winders.

As long as it is running I just put it on.
I have a couple of watches with power reserve indicator and I can see that it only takes me a few hours of wearing to get it from nearly empty to full.

I find that my normally daily activity is enough to keep a watch running just fine.

I usually tend to wear the same watch for a few days at a time, so if I'm going to be wearing it the next day I don't bother with putting it in the winder overnight....... and I never usually find it's stopped during that time. However, if a watch isn't in my "wearing cycle" it will usually be on a winder anyway

It really does come down to activity. If I am wearing a watch with a power reserve and spend the day sitting at my desk I might find that the reserve hasn't fully 'topped off' by the time I get home, but that same watch may be fully wound simply from presenting to an audience for an hour or so when I am more animated. As others have said, if it's running then I don't worry.

I just up and wear too, unless it's the 22nd of the month.

If its just gonna be worn for one day, ill wind it enough to get it ticking, then set it and wear it. If its a daily wearer thats been sitting and has stopped, ill give it a full wind before setting it.

Not a good idea. The winding mechanism has parts, gears, and lubricants. The lubricants must be dispersed. As with anything mechanical non use is its biggest enemy.

It's not an issue. The lubricant in the keyless works is in the castle gear and is heavy duty (by watch standards). The activity that the watch will get adjusting for short months, clocks changing, etc is more than enough.

Yup never had a problem - have taken this approach with all of my watches: Rolexes, Omegas, Breitlings.

I rotate mine by day and leave on a winder at all other times. I'll generally ensure I do at least a few winds once a week to keep the oils moving but that's it. The winder and wear takes care of the rest.

I usually have one on a winder and one on my wrist, but I still "top them off" by winding manually about once a week.
