Took the dog to our local beach about 20 miles away. This time last year I was wearing shorts; today, it was around 2C with a very cold easterly wind.

On the news last night they said it was the coldest Easter since records began.

Global warming seems to have avoided the UK!

Hi Jim

No, sadly not. I bought my son a new winter wetsuit so he can surf year-round, but my wife won't let him n the water until the wind-chill eases off. I think it was only a couple of years ago when I was spearfishing at Easter in much warmer weather.

Yes. Well, to all you guys in the UK and the US/Canada, take it easy getting around until the cold snap dissipates.

For us here in Melbourne, we just have endured the hottest summer period recorded this far south on mainland Australia, since records have been kept. A record 40 degrees every day for about 2 weeks. Most unusual. Just getting colder now with lower temps for autumn. A real Indian Summer though.
