That had to be the most exciting final 25m I've ever seen  They SMASHED the world record by 4 seconds... hell the top 5 teams went under the world record

Anyone else catch it?

I usually have absolutely zero interest in the Olympics...and especially swimming. I just happened to have it on last night while that race was happening and I haven't cheered that hard in a while.

Awesome race. I can now say I'm a fan and will be watching more often.

The "spotlight" on Phelps that was on TV today made him out to be a cool guy, but don't they always?

I think the fact that the Olympics are in HD for the first time really helps make it much more enjoyable!!

I love the Olympics, but the BBC coverage here in the UK sucks too. Yeah it's all on live from 3am my time  , but then the "highlights" program at 7 in the evening lasts for a single pathetic hour (yeah that's REALLY great if you work for a living!) during which the vast majority of the time is spent in the studio with some bird jawing on about how Team GB did really well by coming 98th out of 100 in the tiddly-wink competition!

Why not just re-run the entire day's events throughout the evening from say 5pm on one of the plethora of usually feeble digital channels, rather than showing the 50th re-run of "Dad's Army"!!!!!

There's a ton of high def channels I surf through but we still don't get great coverage.

btw, there are closing ceremony tickets on eBay for$20,000 for two ;)

Hah! that would suck big time. Dish out all this money, arrange travel, hotel blah blah blah. Leave your room in the morning to get to whatever venue you had tickets for only to get turned away from the door!
