For me, I was 18 and a freshman in college. There was this really arrogant guy that We were all friends with, although honestly I could never really stand his personality. This was back in 2002, before bigger watches were so prevalent, and this guy had a big chunky Breitling chronograph, although I had no appreciation for what that meant. The only expensive watch I'd heard of was rolex. It was pretty obvious that his parents had just bought him the watch, because typically college freshmen don't have that kind of money to spend on watches. From the moment I saw it, I knew I had to have one. I also knew it was something I wanted to buy for myself, as opposed to begging my parents. I finished college, and went to law school. Finally, last month, after more than a decade, I was finally able to buy myself a chrono evo from a member of this site.

you had to wait and save and think... and got it all by yourself!
that's the way you deserve (and really enjoy!) a watch (or anything for that matter!)...

well done!

Thanks for the kind words. I hope eventually to have a collection of watches, but I have a feeling this one will always be my favorite. Here is a wrist shot.

I feel the same way osubuck. O-H!! Alumni Class of 06

It always made me mad when it was obvious people just were handed things. It is such much better when it is earned.

Hey Superavenger, I-O!, I'm also 06. Let me know if you're going to be at any games this season. I still get my fraternity brother's student tickets while he is getting a PhD (although I hate Pittsburgh, Go Browns)

I was on the train travelling from Schiphol to Amsterdam Zuid for a client meeting back in 04/05 and the guy sitting opposite me had this huge hunk of a watch on which I noticed was a Breitling.

I knew from that point I had to have that watch. Found out shortly after that it was a Super Avenger. Took me a while to save up but finally got one in early 2012.

Around 1997 and at 17 years of age, I was perusing a antique store for furniture and collectables and came across a vintage 60’s or 70’s pristine Breitling Navitimer black face and white chrono.

Instantly feel in love with it, can’t remember the price, but I do remember that it was too much for a young man on my skint wage of those days.

This going to be my next purchase after the SOH 46 chrono comes and probably my last seeing the wife is most likely with child !! and $ is going to be tight now ...
