The cost involved in moving to that scale could never be justified - heck they can't even figure out how to serially produce an in house 3 hand profitably?
I would like further information. Is the B01 not profitable?

The previous comments were related to going 100% inhouse and a possibility of a 3 hand inhouse movement. A 3 hand inhouse movement variant would not be a B01 but most likely a B0x variant.
No doubt a 3 hand B0x inhouse powered watch would command a price premium over the current ETA based 3 hand models and I am not entirely sure if the buying audience would be willing to pay that premium. This in no way implies that the current B01 Chrono movement is not profitable.

I don't think Brietling needs more than 50k in house movements year at this point but if they did there are likely small constraints that can be expanded to enchance capability perhaps dramatically. As I bet they are watching these small batches very closely and learning from it.

As a member here for a whole 4 weeks or so I can say that Roff's knowledge is extremely impressive although I would tend to disagree on our opinion of making a profit per item. I think if you're talking COGS I'm sure the BO1 is profitable, and I'm sure the financing is set up in a way where they are profitable per period and the expenses are capital expenditures (deductible).

I think they are doing fine, but I'd suggest they really need to invest in Search Engine Marketing. If it was my brand I would not be satisfied with the integrated marketing strategy.
