I know there is alot of info on the forum about Sunshine cloths but I was recently looking for a how to video on You Tube or step by step instruction on exactly how to use them, and also if they remove tiny scratches or just add luster to the overall finish. Ive gone through a few cloths turning them black but it basically just seems to brighten the finish a bit and do nothing for the scratches. Is this normal? I was thinking maybe i just wasn't polishing long enough or using enough pressure? Any advice would be greatly appreciated :D

In my experience they just sort of shine up the watch, and dont really remove anything more than a very light surface scratch. Use a Cape Cod cloth for better results. Anything more than that and youll need to use a polishing wheel and some compound.

Agreed. I tried the sunshine cloths, and they seem to just polish the metal to a nice shine, but not really remove the hairline scratches. The Cape Cod cloths are more messy to use (they are kind of wet soaked, so after you're done, you'll need to rinse off your watch), but work much better if you are trying to remove the hairlines.

I'm gonna give the cape cod a whirl tonight and see if it works better..
Scratches are inevitable on a daily driver but just want to keep it looking sharp.

You may want to wear gloves as well with the Cape Cod cloths. They will leave a vanilla type smell on your hands for a bit after use.

I sell them at my jewelry store they sure are messy, but work ok but nothing works like the polishing motor, that's what I use on my super avenger pro 2 bands.

How about one of those little handheld polishing tools like a dremel. Will that work ok?

A polishing motor could do more damage than good if you don't know how to use one I'm assuming? Same for a Dremel bit? I would get one but only if I knew how to use it.

Yes I would not use Dremel will not do an even job, also you do have to know how to use a polishing motor and the correct compounds for each metal, I have been using the motor for 24 years now since I was 17, and I am still no expert, If I want them done really good I give them to my watch maker, he makes them look like the first day it was purchased.
