I would have a Jupiter Pilot, Chronomat GT and Orbiter 3 Emergency. Oh hang on I already have!

Seriously, it would probably be a JLC Reverso, Navitimer and Astromat QP.

Actually looking at the Patek Phillipe, I find the pricing absolutely ridiculous. Of course we have gone on about pricing of Swiss watches a bit on here but the Calatrava is just ludricrous; is it really worth £16K? I remember when it was £5k not that long ago - even taking into account inflation etc they are just clearly taking the proverbial. I think even if I had the money I wouldn't buy one on principle; I don't mind spending money on something of very high quality but that is just taking the mickey.

For that kind of money, I'd need to get a mortgage :-)

Glad to hear the navi getting so much love. It's a timeless classic that will never go out of style and no collection would be complete without it. That being said my three would be a navi world at least till they get that 01 movement worked out. Second would be a JLC master compressor navy seal. Last would be a transocean chrono.

My trouble is, I'd probably tell you three different ones next week.

That said, I'd like my AP Jumbo white dial back. Toss in a gold JLC or VC dress chrono and maybe a Patek Nautilus or a blue dial Yachtmaster and I'd be pretty happy. See, I can't even give you three now. And if they'd ever make that dial on the Breguet XXI black....

..and that's with play money. Bang for the buck, give me a classic last-generation Navitimer, my present IWC Aquatimer 2000, and the two tone tapestry dial datejust I test drove, and I'd be pretty happy with life.

If money isn't an issue, Chronomat 01 for Chronograph function and all situations(eg, swimming, light scuba diving or snorkeling, gym, everyday wear whether formal or informal, etc), PP for formal (White Gold Calatrava looks great), GMT Master II for Travelling and also if I want to wear a lighter and smaller watch for the day which can be used for most situations too.

Could take me a while to figure this one out, but in the interim, here's the three that I would keep from the current stable:

I like those selections Roff. From an affordability aspect:

1. Breitling Navi.
2. Patek, VC or Lange classic, GMT watch - clearly haven't decided yet.
3. Omega PO or something sporty from JLC.

I'm fortunate in that I already have two of these. I love my aviation watches, I like something more sporty and water resistant, and I'd like to add a classic, GMT watch that is simple yet stunning.
