So far so good!

Ya I use it to also time the sec hand once in a while to see if it's running faster or slower than usual. Not sure if this can be a method to test whether the sec hand is working properly.

I look for smooth running seconds hand (no strange skipping), minutes ticking over as the seconds chrono hand passes the 12 mark and for all the Chrono hands resetting to zero position.
Any more???

Me too. I keep my chronographs running 24/7. They never stop. Just like the look of the rolling second hand I guess. There isnt anything wrong with running the chronographs 24/7 is there?

No. Marginal additional wear, but not really a practical issue, and power reserve will be reduced but if it's a daily wearer / wound daily / kept on a winder then that's not a practical issue either.

When I was a sound engineer used to use it to time songs but outside of that I use it quite a lot when cooking. My Colt Chrono Transocean is just so easy to use, hand on wrist and i can just hit the button and it starts timing and I can concentrate on the next task. I know I can look at the clock on the wall and try and remember but if my head is full I sometimes look up and then forget what the start time was. It's a matter of being able to look at my watch and knowing how long something has been on for. Much easier than getting the iphone out, switching it on, choosing clock, choosing stopwatch and only then hitting start. I use the iphone for cake making since I am usually only doing one thing at a time.
Also use it for timing on pay in advance meters and car parks.
Every time the watch goes in for a new battery I surprise myself by how much I miss the chrono.

Oh! And when the kids were small I used it a lot in situations such as: "you have 5 mins to pick your toys up and I've started my watch?" Or " I am only going to read you a story for ten minutes, I am stopping when the watch gets to HERE!"
