For this kind of money there are a ton of options. Does it have to be these two?

Well if you love these two the pp will hold its value better.

Would your consider pre owned? If you do there are a ton of suggestions.

I would rather buy new, but pre owned isn't out of the question.

Do you have any opinions of the two in the OP?

In think the pp would make a great dress watch. Not sure if you have tried on the RG TO. The lugs are a bit long for my liking. They do curve to fit the wrist but just too long and skinny for my liking.

Two very different watches, but of those two the Patek every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Chronograph over a centre sweep any day. Transocean hands down.

Any reasons why you would choose one over the other?

PP, if a dress watch or something more formal is what that u looking for. Of course value wise PP holds better but in the first place I think it's much more expensive than the TO? IMO chronograph watches should have a more sporty look while a formal watch should be kept simple to have the "less is more" looks. Doesn't mean that u cannot wear a chronograph watch for formal but I am talking about primary intention of the design. Many nice chronograph watches are primary sporty looking but on the secondary part, have their lugs, bezel, and some minor parts made a little more elegant so as to increase the versatility and able to compliment a formal outfit. However the TO seems to do the opposite with formal styling as the primary intention and attempts to input a chronograph for functional appeal. It looks nice but when I imagine myself putting on both watches at the same time PP seems to win in this case...

Out of those 2 I'd choose the TOC.

PP make some beautiful watches and will obviously hold it's value better... but the TOC is the one I'd actually wear :-)

Hi pearson1995, I assume you are asking me!

Chronographs are the best exemplar of a modern wrist watch in my opinion. Given that there are some very beautiful centre sweep watches around I would be opening myself up to some strong criticism here if I said there were not. So I won’t.

I have quite a number of centre second watches, but never compare them in the same breath as a chronograph.

I can’t seem to see past a Chronograph regardless of the occasion or the task to be performed. If it’s important enough to wear a watch, then it’s important enough to wear a chronograph.

Red gold is OK, but otherwise, stainless.

I am just totally weird.

If I were spending my own money it would have to be the TO. The PP is beautiful and will
hold it's value well if that factor is a priority. I don't wear dress watches myself and like some others here I prefer a chrono to a centre sweep every time. It has to be your choice but the TO wins it for me.

Not a TO fan. Patek is nice and all, but let's think out of the box a bit and consider another exception brand - this particular model in a striking "rose gold tone" -
