I am struggling to work out which model I have of Breitling, the more I read the more confused I am.

I bought it being told it was a 38mm.VALJOUX 7733

Well the dial is brand new which doesn't bode well for the rest of the watch. Are there any numbers on the caseback?

Unfortunately from the pictures you've posted the watch doesn't appear to be a genuine Breitling. The dial has been redone, the crown is wrong, and the movement is unmarked, all of which point to a fake. A picture of the back will most likely confirm it.

ouch. not a Breitling, I'm afraid, this movement (Valjoux 7733) has been launched quite a bit later than the script logo and - refinished - dial would fit.

u might send a pic of the caseback (inside and out) on the rather minimal hope that at least the basic case was a Breitling originally and just a later movement and a refinished dial were installed, but I highly doubt. that.

The back is blank no numbers or anything inside or out.. I have not got the camera here at the moment..
