I recently purchased a used breitling watch from a store here in San Antonio I paid close to $4000 for it. It's a 1884 chronograph. Any info would help.

I'm sorry but it is fake - the sub-dials are wrong, and the pushers are not a correct match with the Windrider onion-style crown. it's a bad fake.

It has no value. Odd question to ask when advised a store just sold you a poor fake for $4,000.

I'm no expert but that looks terrible. I'd be straight back to the store!

As others already said, it's a bad fake.

Take it back to the store - next time post a pic, then buy after - definitely a bad fake, worth $0.00

Depends on whether he was back at the store wringing someone neck, or if he has left us because he couldn't get source endorsed!

Given the strange response and in the absence of a follow-up I don't think it would be altogether improper at least to speculate that this was someone trying to establish the quality of a known fake.

Ya think!!!!

It happens all the time with people coming here to 'test the waters', much more common than people who genuinely don't know. It's why the reaction is generally pretty strong - leave them in no doubt that it's awful, worthless and won't con anyone.
