Hi
I saw these Chrono Matic hands listed and was wondering if any one has any experience of them. Are they indeed genuine NOS?
I have three Chrono Matic's, poor picture attached, and was wondering if they are correct for the watches i have as some spares for the future would be nice.

Any advise appreciated.

Thanks Jamie.

My concern would be that if you are retaining the second hand, that you might not get a colour match for the minute and hour hands you buy.

The same seller has second hands also, i just posted the link to the minute and hour hands, so i would look at buying sets. Do you think they are correct for the Chrono Matic's i have? 2 are caliber 15 and one caliber 11-2.

Hi JamieA,

Well, there are so many versions of the Chrono Matic and there are some differing hand designs across the range. Some have a closed off baton (orange edge at the top of the hand) whilst some are open at the end (like the sellers hands). Some are white at the base and some black or metallic. Some have second hands that are not baton or pointers but Bregeut Cubist hands.

With limited availability of hands generally, I think your option are limited to what you can get. If you really need them, then I would not think it too off spec to change to something almost the same. I would get the second hands though as well, so as to keep the colour rendition as close as possible on all hands.

I would also check your calibre with the seller so as to be assured the spindle diameters he is quoting line up with yours. Keep in mind these hands may also be good for Heuer watches as well. I am not absolutely sure if the Autavia or Calculator used exactly the same hands as these ones, but they were certainly very similar. So you need an assurance that these were to fit Breitlings. I think they are, but it never hurts to ask (buy the Seller).

They may be NOS, but personally I am not convinced. It also looks like they have no lume.

It's pretty clear in the ad what they fit. Watchco knows what their selling and I've never had a problem with anything from them. They will fit any Chronomatic as they all have the same post size. Whether or not they will match what was originally on your dial is another thing but they will fit a Chronomatic. Breitling hands were only used on Breitling's Heuer hands were used on Gruen's, Elgin's, Kelek's, and many other Cal 11/12/14/15 movements from what I have seen.

Agree completely that they fit.

Watchco is 100% reliable as an ebay seller , and I can attest that those hands are perfect new old stock for Pupitre versions - fitting Valjoux 7740, cal 11 - 12 -15 . 2110 hands are slightly different - open ends - and if you try to modify them by just dremer cutting , lume will chip off .
It is easy to respray the white hub part in black

The same ebay seller has posted the proper orange sweephands and subdials hands .

The prices are correct , and Rob combines shipping to allow you paying the just enough price.

I would not have thought they would fit all Chrono Matic versions as over the years, there have been so many differing calibres used in that time. Would they fit all post spindles?

I am not sure I would want to mod the hands once purchased, as that sounds difficult and would degrade the hands to a certain extent. I would keep them as is.

Do they have lume?

Thanks for all the great info, my main concern was that they are the correct spindle diameter and length for the watches i have, so it seems they are. Also good to hear the positive comments on the seller.
I will check the lume point that Roff raised as i agree, it's difficult to see.

as Phil and Paul have said, these hands will physically fit all Breitling Heuer Bueren Cal. 11/12/15 and the Valjoux 7740. These are the "closed top" type, perfect for the Pupitres and the 2110s u have.

just bought a bunch, btw. (merci Phil for the early headsup); great seller and if u contct Rob for a package deal, a very, very fair price.

would not worry re the lume, if they are (and they really seem to be) NOS from the early 70s the lume will be gone by now.
