I was running some errands this morning and ran across this in a window of a mom and pop jewelry store. The owner was asking $2800 for it, and asked for me to make an offer. What do you think would be a fair price on this watch? Also, anyone can ID this model?

Wakmann triple date. Has a nice valjoux movement inside I think. Other vintage guys will be able to help you more. They are on ebay a lot. Vulcan has one much like it too. I keep an eye out for them from time to time. Typically see them selling on ebay for around 1,000 give or take a few hundred depending on case and condition. Check completed auctions on ebay.

or even Vulcain :poke:

$2,800 is optimistic in the extreme.

live long and prosper    I was in a hurry to beat you two to be the first reply. It is probably the only vintage post where I could actually somewhat answer a question. Should have stuck to Wakmann only - I got greedy.

Rich, u were spot on regarding the realistic value, this one would be on the lower side, dial seems to have some discoloration, mint pieces might reach 50% of the asking price on the bay.

$1000 + or - a couple hundred would be for one in great shape. These people are out of touch with realty asking $2800 and it is in poor repair. I paid a little over $1000 for this one on ebay less than a year ago. Good luck hunting, it's a great classic watch for the price!

Nice one Rick, I have been looking for a while - really dig the day of the month implementation. They seem to have crept up recently $1K for a stainless one in that nice of shape is well bought I would say. Congrats on a nice find.

Thanks By the way I spent 5 happy years in Baltimore from 1972 till 1977. I went to Univ of Maryland Dental School and did a 1 year post grad program at John Hopkins and Baltimore City Hospital.
