You can also use a cape cod cloth, then repeat this process and it looks brand new.

That's how my CA takes a bath. Been two years no problems. I mean come on it is water resistant to 300m...should be good for a light scrub.

Like Roffensian said, it's the toothpaste that's the problem.

I'm with Roff on both the key points on this thread -

1) Ultrasonics are no-no for watches with the movement still in them. They are designed for cleaning jewellery, not watches. On the bracelet it will be fine, but then, why bother as the bracelet is easy to clean yourself. Which brings us on the second point....

2) Toothpaste is a no-no on your watches as well.

Oh and lastly if anyone is tempted to buy one of the ultrasonic cleaners you see on eBay for cleaning jewellery - don't bother. I have heard from good sources that they are no more effective than soaking the item in warm water for a while. Ultrasonic cleaning of jewellery is best done professionally at a decent jewellers.

You guys are right - ultrasonics will kill the movement. So, if you want Torneau to give you a new watch (and you're willing to battle them for it), go ahead.

I use ultrasonics sometimes to clean the bracelet, but the bracelet only. Cleaning is more often done by soap/water and the Cods...

Absolutely no toothpaste! You'll end upp with quite a few scratches...
