I have a choice of two watches and I could use some help.

Choice A:
2003 Breitling B1 with quartz. Mint Condition only wore 2 times. Serviced 1 year ago from Breitling. I really like this watch but I would be hard pressed to wear it as its a little big for my liking and its too nice IMO to wear everyday.

But I believe the value is is greater.

Choice B:
1999 F65362 Breitling Aerospace, Grey Dial. It is wore daily but in good condition, great crystal and minimal cosmetic issues. Serviced one year ago. I would wear this watch everyday. (picture to come)

I would like to know what they are both worth, conservatively. And any reason why I should go with one over the other. If someone is interested in the B1 let me know.

If one of the watches would be one that you would wear every day and the other is one that you would rarely wear then the choice would seem to be obvious?

The B1's fine for everyday, unless it just doesn't suit you, in which case, why even consider it? It should be easier to work the functions, too.

There is a value standpoint too. A guy owes me money and I'm picking a watching. thinking of value for my work.

Fair enough, but value in $ is important for resale; value in terms of use is important if you want a watch to use.

The usual quick method for estimating value in $ is to review completed sales on ebay.

If it helps. I'd take the B1 and would not hesitate or think twice. Not for the obvious reasons of condition and provanence of the B1 as aaginst the Areospace value.

If the B1 suits the value of the IOU, then its a shoe in for me. No question.

Thanks for the info. I am thinking the b1 too. If I look at it and feel I am not appreciating it enough I can always sell it and get an aerospace or something different. It is one hell of a watch.

I've had that exact Aerospace, even from that year! And i loved it. But i'd go with the B1. It's a beloved watch among Breitling fans. You'll get more in resale for it.

Yes, I would go with the B1. Remember it's also an investment and you can always sell it or trade it in.

I think they are both great watches. But if choosing one or the other, I'd get the B-1 first.

I happen to own both watches (the Aerospace was my first Breitling and B1 my second - still have them!). I can see pros and cons on both. Aerospace is much lighter, slightly easier to see at a glance the time, brighter digital display than B1 better water resistance (10 atm against 5) . On the other hand B1 is "more of a watch", it has more functions (i.e. the second alarm tied to the second time zone - useful if you travel a lot, UTC time etc.). But most importantly, B1 is far more accurate than aerospace.
Having said all that, it is a difficult decision and it comes down to personal taste - but my choice goes to B1 - I find myself wearing it more often.
