Hi all,

What are the differences between the two Emergency versions? If you were looking to buy an used Emergency would you insist on a Superquartz or would you take a non SQ if the price was right?

I guess what I'm asking is, in the real world of an average user, should I really care either way...?

Thanks in advance,

Anthony.

Superquartz is a thermo-compensated movement so inherently more accurate - but with quartz that's always a relative concept anyway as regular quartz will be more accurate than mechanical in the majority of situations. The biggest practical advantage of buying SQ is that the non SQ movements are becoming obsolete and will eventually need upgrading to SQ during servicing which will likely cost more down the road than buying the SQ version up front.

Thanks Roff,

That sounds like a good enough reason to go SQ from the start then...!

Cheers,

Anthony.
