You didn't damage anything, just be sure you change date outside of danger zone.

Turning the crown in the wrong direction on the date setting is no different than turning it the wrong way for winding - it just slips. As bnewbie notes, just make sure that you are outside of the 8pm - 3am danger zone when using quickset date.

That you shouldn't try to adjust the date within those times.

When the time on the watch is between 8pm and 3pm, the date should not be changed because the gears in the date change mechanism start engaging around 8pm and end around 3am. Changing the date between those times can damage those gears.

It depends on the movement and date set, I'm sure someone who is more eloquent in English than me will explain better.

Yes, the 8500 movement in my Omega Planet Ocean doesn't have a quick set date. To change the date the hour hand has to be moved 24 hours forwards or backwards. In this case the date can be changed at any time.

Also, I read that on the Breitling 01 movement, the date can be changed at any time with out damaging the movement.

You shouldn't do it. Many, many threads on the quickset date danger zone - and it's in the manual.

Again, many threads on this if you use the search. As a general rule either the date won't change consistently or one or more dates will be off centre in the window. Cycle through a full month and if it seems OK then it probably is.
