I saw a Breitling Code Yellow for sale in the sales corner on TZ. I was very interested in the watch so I downloaded the photos the seller had made available to my PC so I could use my photo viewer to zoom in on the watch to judge the condition of the piece. My photo viewer also has a feature that allows you to read the imbedded EXIF data that normally accompanies ever photo. The EXIF data revealed that the photos were taken February, 10 months ago. A watch can certainly accumulate much wear and tear in the span of 10 months.

Good idea to check the date the pictures were taken on ads.

Yes, thats a good point. I always ignore offers on watches with factory pics, unless the seller can issue actual pics that are current. The idea of checking a photo date is a good one. If an actual pic is too old, then anything can happen in the meantime.

Had an offer on a Breitling last week, that frankly seemed to be camera shy on one side. On asking for extra pics I saw that the side not photograghed originally was indeed not to standard spec. No allegations against the seller, but suspicion on my part thankfully got the better of me. So I did not buy as it would have been more trouble to fix than pass by for a more expoensive offer eslewhere. So you can get caught.

I believe that if you follow the guides on this forum and buy the buyer first, you stand an even chance of getting the confirmation you need before buying or by passing.

I get a lot of 'sellers' who send me pics of other people's listings and claims it is their own, most overseas and wanting MoneyGram or another scam-central payment. The best way IMO to prevent your pics being reused is something like this...I borrowed a pic from BS for this. While this isn't the best method to show you have the watch (actual piece of paper next to the watch is best IMO, it make sure someone doesn't use Adobe Illustrator to take your watch, butcher the photo, and scam someone with it. I generally put these marks over areas that would be critical for a scammer to use, such as making contact with the logo, writing, bracelet, engraved model and SN, etc.
