Hi, This is my first post so hopefully it makes sense. I recently bought this 810 Top Time and have a question, the dial has 'Swiss' as opposed to the normal 'Geneve' that other Breitlings of a similar era i have show, including another Top Time. Does anyone have any information on this? The watch seems very original, has it's original invoice,bought here in the UK in '68.
I think i will hang on to it, but wondered if the 'Swiss' is seen as a positive or negative detail.

Thanks JamieA.

very strange. the "Swiss" seems wrong - both in context and print quality; could u post a better pic,
the "Breitling" seems a bit less crisp than the original dials, the tachymeter scale font seems off too;
so most probably a refinished dial ? maybe u could post a better pic so we can say for sure ?

If it really bothers you, Gisbert Joseph might still have a NOS 810 dial, though these were white/white.

edit: the dangers of hi res pics ; just noticed a scratch on my crystal, needs some elbow grease :oops:

Thanks for the reply, i have attached a slightly better picture, not as good a yours though. I think i have seen a previous post some time ago asking a similar question, so i think the use of 'Swiss' is original, I just don't know why, or how long it was done for.

Any info appreciated.

The pushers and crown seem a little different too. How about a pic of the back?

i'll try and do some better pictures, photography is clearly not my strongest point. Under a loupe compared with another 810 this ones identical in all aspects except the 'Swiss' marking, so i'm comfortable with the watch itself. Maybe there is someone out there who has come across this before and can shed some light on it.

Thanks for the replies,
The previous thread asks all the same questions, and the 810 shown has an identical dial to mine. So it seems some were produced like this for a time. Knowing why and what sort of quantity would be interesting, but it seems we are some way from being able to answer that question.
For now i'll just hang on to it, if i find any answers i'll let you all know.
