I'm in the market for a new watch, and I'm thinking I'll stick with Breitling. I want something sporty! This brings me to the Colt 44 or the Aerospace. I'm thinking white or navy face, on brown leather. I'd also be open to any other suggestions in this same price range.

Input?

Thanks

Hmm, a classic Breitling or a watch designed by a 5 year old who was asked to draw a picture of a Tag.

Tough choice........... :poke:

To me the Colt 44 looks way better in person than the Breitling site. Was not a fan of the black when I tried it on. Blue or white for sure. I am way in the minority on the Colt here. I'd say reserve judgment until you see one for yourself. Did not like the bracelet on the Colt. OR strap is to die for. Blue/Blue or White/Black in my book.

I think the entire professional line is very cool, well thought out and just plain bad ass. Just not for me. I can appreciate them for their purpose and if I was a pilot I'd have to have one or two. For a daily wear not my thing. The cut outs or windows in the face for the digital display just grab my eyes and I can't get past it. Digital or analog pick one, they seem to be trying to be too much.

Are 5 year olds now part of Breitling's design team?

Since you already have a SO and a colt, I would suggest to go for another brand, have you looked into Omega or any other brands?

If it were my choice I would take the Aerospace 100 times over the Colt 44

I've seen the Colt and Aerospace in person, and have had both on my wrist. I like the Aerospace because I think it's more what I'm looking for.

For some reason, Omega just doesn't do anything for me. My AD also had Oris and I think they make a nice watch, especially for the money. I'm really open for any suggestions, but sounds like the Aerospace might be the way to go.

Thanks!

I have the Aerospace and I love it.
Why?

It's relatively unique.
It is ridiculously accurate.
It is thin and light.
Wide choices of straps that can instantly change the look.
I hate ticking second hands but the Aerospace doesn't have a second one. I forget that it is quartz.
It always runs and it's always accurate, even if I do not wear it for a few days.
I can do anything with it and I know it will take it.
Fairly inexpensive to service.
I like the look. Very Breitling.
If you get an Aerospace, you get an Aerospace. If I got a Colt, I would have wished I gotten the Superocean.
It's just plain cool.

Here is mine.

The Aerospace still maintains the retro bezel & rider tabs
still coveted by many. The only bad/wrong decision you
can make is getting something & wanting a different one
later. If you score a written exchange policy from your AD,
then wear test one indoors in "soft" places, then try the
other before knowing absolutely which stands out.

@SLRdude- Beautiful shots, thanks for sharing. I really like the white face, black strap contrast. However, I'm pretty sure I want to stick with brown leather.

I do find it foolish to have a Colt II auto and a Colt 44, especially when I think my Colt II looks better than the new Colt, on top of it being automatic. I'm leaning towards the Aerospace for sure.

Thanks!

It's actually not white, it is tan/champagne/eggshell... no clue what to call it. :-)

You can sort of see it here...

I had both. And each model appeals to different purposes.

I couldnt live with the Aerospace because i found it too be too lightweight. I would in hindsight, choose a B1 variant such as Airwolf.

The Colt 44 Chrono was a nice watch. But I realised that I prefer mechanical watches instead

Great shots SLR, thanks for sharing!

@1952, that is great advice and what I was looking for, I might go a different way myself.

Thanks!
