I went to the Breitling store the other day and tried on the white dial Super Avenger. I got to say, I totally fell in love with it. It was like the watch was made for me. It goes perfectly well on my wrist since I do have a wide wrist. I want to know what is the resale value of those things after 5 years or so, just a rough idea. And how come some websites are cheaper than the other like the cheapest I found that watch was for 4,039$ and they offer 3 year warranty. What is the difference between the websites and why is it 200 dollars cheaper. This website authenticwatches.com is where I'm planning to buy my watch. Any feed back will be highly appreciated. And one last thing, what are the dos and don'ts to buy from a website and to make sure I'm getting the right product.

Thanks,

There is someone selling the watch for 3,300 but it only has 1 year warranty. Is that worth it? or does a Breitling really need a warranty

You will be getting an authentic product however it will not come from a Breitling Authorized Dealer.
As such no Breitling warranty.
The 3 year warranty offered is not backed up by Breitling which is what you will get if you buy from an AD.

Do a search on here for "Grey Market" that is what it is called when you buy from a website or any unauthorized dealer... The general advice (if you are in the US) is to contact Jnelson or FEAR as they are both forum sponsor authorized dealers. They should be able to get you what you want, with a discount with a full 2 year official international Breitling warranty. Good Luck

I found a watch that is liquidated. Mint condition, unworn. No tag, 1 yr warranty. He is selling it for 3300$ I'm thinking of going with that. Authentication certificate comes with the watch. Good deal?

It appears wessa's & sco's comments are wasted,
since you are tunnel visioned into the $3,300 watch.
I checked {authenticwatches.com} on the BBB web-
site. Despite having an "A" rating, their track record
of complaints is a disgrace to all merchants. Another
grey marketeer, Alan Furman had 1 complaint in the
last 3 years concerning advertising/sales issues, & was
resolved with BBB assistance. If you purchance from
AW & get roasted, don't show up here with gripes.

A lot of potential angst created there angstfree!

Grey market dealers - which covers all online sellers, are non authorised and will not offer you any warranty. In the US the forum sponsor ADs - Govbergs and Provident will be able to get pretty much the same price for you with a full 2 year warranty.

If you buy used then the FAQs recommend checking completed sales on eBay for price indications. The SA is a popular watch that shows up regularly on the forums so there is no shortage of comparable pieces to give you an idea on price.

Well, I was looking into craigslist looking to buy from a liquidator. He will be providing me the authentication certificate and a box but no tag. With 1 year warranty. The transaction will be done through pay pal.
I'm looking forward to making that purchase. They are from www.yourwatchconnection.com. Any input on that?
This will be my first swiss watch and I don't want to spend retail on something I can get same thing for couple of thousand less.

I didn't find YWC on the BBB, but that doesn't mean it's legit.
Take your time before buying, so you end up happy, & not
aggravated due to being fleeced. We've seen too many un-
fortunate outcomes, that could have been easily avoided.
Roff, wessa, etc., are not being paid to give advice, they
want people informed in order to make safe purchases.

You have to ask yourself why a watch that is so popular is at a liquidator. Is it a return, is it a lemon, is it stolen????? I think that you should avoid buying the first thing that comes along ans look at many of the pieces that are available on a regular basis and / or contact one of the forum sponsors about a brand new one.

Fair enough, but there are ways of providing new members with advice that doesn't sound quite so 'direct', and if you are hearing that from me of all people then it was likely pretty direct!

If deemed too blunt, my apologies. I hope he
gets what he seeks, without drama & trauma.

What is an authenticity certificate?...a made up certificate from the online retailer saying it's authentic? Lol.
