I'm not sure if this has been asked.. there was a somewhat similar thread though. I just picked up an Aerospace Avantage (now just the Aerospace) and it is the perfect golf watch.. light and thin.. size is good too.. not too small to wear, but not too big for swinging.

Yes, I saw that the title of the thread had a question mark, and I was going to recommend the Aerospace. It's not just the perfect watch for golfing - it's the perfect watch for just about anything but deep diving. It's utility, comfort, and versatility are unmatched in my book.

Congrats on picking up a great watch!

I think that my CA helps me get a couple of extra yards... 8)

I play 40 to 60 rounds a year and it hasn't missed a beat.

The best Breitling for Golfing, shouldn't that be the SA? Decent size and good weight to get a few extra yards when it hits the ball... Too bad the bracelet is so short though.

I'd probably suggest a quartz watch for golf.

I wouldn't use an automatic for golf either. I wear either my Tag Aquaracer quartz or my Timex Ironman. The Ironman has a golf function that keeps track of your score, but most days I'd rather not know my score!

Well, to add my 2 cents...

I play quite alot of golf. However, like Driver8 I would not recommend wearing an automatic watch while playing. I can't seem to find the link at the moment but I recall reading somewhere that the average golf clubhead speed during swing for a man is somewhere around 120-150mph, resulting in a ball speed of somewhere about 150-170mph depending on conditions and club selection. Obviously at the time of impact between the ball (standing still) and the clubhead @ (150-170mph) there is quite an impact and explosion of acceleration. Now, think about subjecting your ling to that? No thank you!!

I prefer to play it safe and leave my ling resting either in the car or safely in my bag for some action later-on at the 19th!!

A safe option, if you must wear a watch would be a quartz movement of some kind.

By the way - Is there many golfers here? If so, whats everyone's handycap? Mine is 5

P.S. - I don't mean to hijack this thread! :)

I'm known throughout the land as the 'fairway destroyer' on the golf course. Asbolutely terrible, but I love any excuse to go outside on a pretty day and drink some beer :)

I wear a Colt Quartz on black rubber whenever I play. This is my weekend beater that I use for playing golf, swimming in the pool, etc.

nice pick up. Hm...for golfing I might recommend a quartz watch as well..

Titanium would be nice also!

I would imagine that the impact is more or less absorbed into the shaft. I dont really see how it could be hard on the watch.

Either way, I wear mine (auto) to the driving range, and other than it being a bit uncomfortable at times, havent had any issues.
