Sorry in advance if this has been asked before, but as a new member I am waiting to pick up my first Breitling on the ninth. Question I've always forgotten to ask my AD is how limited are the limited. I know it is xxx/2000, but how does that compare to the production of the non limited models?

production figures for non-limited models are not published by Breitling, so no way to know.

As Fred says.

We do know from COSC that Breitling currently produce a little over 150,000 watches a year but that's the closest that you will get.

I think in terms of other brands, 2000 is not particularly THAT limited but having said that, it is enough so that anyone who wants one will probably get one. I quite like how my Chronomat 41 and others have the number on the side, kinda seem much more exclusive, like out of 2000 in the world one of them is on your wrist. But not only that, I think Breitling makes very nice limited editions, like with black face and red hands, and see through back on chronomats. Really cool.

Thank you for the responses. I agree about the limited and was one of the factors with the one I picked, just was curious for when I'm wearing it in two weeks and non watch people ask.

I was at the Breitling store two weeks ago and finally tried my first one on after avoiding it for sometime, you know, easier to talk yourself put of something if you've never known first hand. Well after trying on the limited Chronomat Blackbird and leaving it in store could not stop thinking about it. Added that there were only two in store and of the two, the one I tried on had a low number and a personally meaning. Yeah...two weeks to know I did not want to miss out so called and put a deposit down. So, I had planned to wait for an event in the new year but that got sped up a bit.

Thanks for all the info in the forum, helped me make over last couple months to make an informed decision. Will post a picture of my first soon.

Rob

2,000 is a lot better number that what Omega does with some of their LE Bond models where they make 10,000 of. A good example of a very limited Breitling would be this one which Govberg had 50 of them made.

LE of 2000 isnt too limited. Figure that if you want one within the first year, youll get one. After that they start thinning out and eventually end up only on the secondary market.

A regular model can be had basically any time you want one.
