Just heard some interesting news....
As some of you may know there was a shake up at International Watch last year with the founder and Editor-in-Chief Gary Girdvainis being forced out. The Managing Editor was promoted and his position was backfilled by the Web Editor Jonathan Bues. Girdvainis tried to bring a foreign publication into North America and when that failed decided to launch his own company (Isochron Media) publishing two new magazines - WristWatch magazine that is now on its 2nd quarterly issue and About Time which is just about to launch. About Time is targetting entry level up to about $2,500, WristWatch is more 'traditional'. Nothing particularly exciting there and when I heard about it earlier in the year I didn't think that it was post worthy, but.......
Isochron just announced that they have hired Jonathan Bues so International Watch is going to be going through another shakeup and clearly Isochron / Girdvainis are serious about getting a foothold in the market place. Not sure what all this means yet, but I'm guessing that the WatchTime people are enjoying it!
