Breitling Fanatic - what about a similar looking model that is 40mm but offers a thinner case?

The Windriders Roffensian pointed out look somewhat similar in the 38-40mm range and 15mm, but they aren't quite as water-oriented as the SO line...for most that probably isn't an issue but if you do a ton of water stuff, the higher ratings ratings and beefier build may come in handy IMO. As he mentioned, the Navi is thin but a very different look and much higher price tag. It's also not very water friendly.

I have a superocean abyss silver and i had the same feelings that you did before i bought it. Once I had the watch fitted and wore it for a few weeks the thickness was not much of a issue.

I have the pro2, diver and the special leather straps with the white underside color made for the superocean line. I like having many looks, and some fit better than others but you will get use to it IMO. I did.

I finally decided to pull the trigger on this superocean http://www.chrono24.com/en/search/index.htm?query=A13340&suchen=Search&dosearch=true&searchexplain=1&resultview=list but once I tried it on at my local AD it seemed to big for my wrist. Not so much the 42mm Diameter but the 15.1mm thickness really just seemed to much for me. I love this model and the look of the watch, does anyone have any suggestions for something similar but not as big/thick? Or will all Breitling Chronos have that same thickness?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael

The first "bigger" watch always seems very large to start. After a few days it seems natural. My wrist is 6&1/2 and the CSO was certainly not too big for me, though it did at the start as my first Breitling. When I would switch from a Steelfish to the CSO, it took a day or so for the CSO not to feel too small! Just perspective and getting used to different sizes. Breitlings tend to be thick watches compared to some. It's part of the deal.

Thanks for all the input.
After trying on the watch again I feel like the size is something that I would just need to get used to. I tried on the Colt Chrono II and while it is larger at 44mm I really like how the bracelet is brushed not the super showy polished bracelet. So my question is what are my Breitling options with brushed bracelets? and more importantly how can I go about acquiring the A13340 dial but with the brushed bracelet?

1. Buy the watch as is and then buy an additional brushed bracelet from Breitling? how much?
2. I read that I can pay an AD or Breitling to turn a polished bracelet into a brushed bracelet? Anyone know what that would run? and what the pros/cons are? I read that you can turn a polished into a brushed and then back to polished if you want down the road.

Bracelets are unique to each model so you can't just buy a brushed bracelet if one isn't available for the model. You or a jeweller can brush a bracelet and then polish it again, although recognise that you are removing tiny amounts of metal in the process. Bretiling seem to be more tolerant of these changes than they used to be, but whether they would do it for you is still going to be hit and miss.

How would I go about seeing if the A13340 can come with a brushed band? It appears all SuperOceans historically come in polished. If these only come in polished, paying an AD to brush the bracelet doesn't sound like that bad of an option.

There isn't a brushed option.
