I was recently burgled, and amongst other things, my lovely Breitling was taken.

i'm trying to find some clear close up photos to give to the police, but struggling to find any. I have lots of me wearing it, but none actually showing it clear enough.

I do have the certificate though, with the Montre # and was wondering, with the description, if this would be any help, and if the number is on the watch, so they would be able to match it if found?

Thanks for any help

Sorry to hear about your loss and I hope your watch is found.
The Montre # is basically a watch #, it matches with the serial number stamped on the back of the watch.
Good luck.

The SN that is on the certification as well as the warranty booklet and sometimes the outer box (external sticker) corresponds to the laser engraved number on the bottom of the watch (and from what Breitling has told me, as well as the movement). Sorry to hear :(

Sorry to hear - Does Breitling not have a Register of Stolen watches ? My beautiful Antares was also stolen (in the UK) a few years back.

Terrible news!

Novacastrian had his Breitlings stolen aswell not too long ago :-(
Thankfully he managed to get one back last month...he kept an eye on eBay and saw it go up for sale. So there might be hope!

As already said the serial number will help, and if you tell Breitling then they will monitor should it ever be sent for servicing but eBay / Craigslist / etc really are going to be the best chances of finding it.

Sorry for the loss and glad that no one was hurt.

Very sorry to hear that it's stolen. I would also look on ebay in sold section and not just in active just in case its sold already. I hope you find it.

That sucks! My house was broken into and a few watches were taken a couple years back. The only for certain to be able to get them back is to have them insured. I didn't have insurance, even though I had the boxes and papers, I lost a Yachtmaster, a Planet Ocean and an Oris. As soon as I acquire a new watch now I bring the appraisal to the insurance agency and have them add it to my homeowners.
I hope you are able to receiver your watch but in the future for your own piece of mind make sure you get the watch appraised and insured.

Very sorry to hear this. Had the same thing happen about 7 years ago, took an Omega amongst other things. I reported it to the insurance and was able to replace it through them w/o having any special insurance on it (value around 4K). Not sure if your home insurance will cover it but worth a try, if so get a new one and call it good.

It is a terrible feeling when somebody breaks into your home, the one thing that should be sacred. Unfortunately our justice system is a joke with these sort of crimes so getting caught is not the end of the world for these scumbags. I now own a HK USP tactical and a German Shepherd, the best home security feature available not to mention my best friend.

I hope you have a good outcome in the end.

Called the police with photographic evidence showing it was his, police got in contact with the insurance company, who weren't interested in getting it back, so police helped him get it from the seller on ebay.

I'm sorry to hear that happened , I can't imagine how mad I would be if someone broke in my house .On top of that my watches being stolen . I've been meaning to get insurance .I know I can get a separate policy for the watches but do you have to update the list every time you sell one ? Again I'm sorry that happened to you,I hope you get it back

Oh, man, that sucks. The first thing I did when buying my Breitlings was to add them to my homeowner's insurance policy. Very cheap to add.

Hopefully if you watch eBay and the local pawn shops, you can see it when it shows up. The dipsh!t thieves likely have no idea what they have.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I would also recommend in the future to install a home safe to protect your watches
