A mechanical Emergency transmitter wouldn't be particularly effective, plus it's got two LCD panels in the middle of the dial!

That's why I brought it up. It stated mechanical in the listing!

C'mon sco, the listing clearly states "The Emergency also houses a COSC certified Swiss Quartz movement and is water resistant to 330 feet." Although in fairness to you we all know the Emergency is WR to only 30m or 100 feet not 330 feet.

Again a fine example of someone selling something that they know little about, but considering where it's being sold, that's showbiz I suppose.

I know I was nitpicking. But the listing said "mechanical" it was more for fun to mention it than me taking it seriously

I'm willing to bet that they listed it as mechanical because people browsing for higher end pieces are more likely to browse a 'mechanical' section versus a 'quartz' one, so it's a partial publicity attempt.

I'll take that bet.

Ok let's try and put this one to bed.

The listing has a load of inaccurate information.

Age: Modern (2000-present) Incorrect Not "present" as the Emergency was discontinued nearly 2 Years ago. This particular 56 movement was discontinued nearly 5 years ago. The seller even says "Discontinued Model" in the narrative. Also in the detail below the narrative under the heading "Retail Price" it states N/A-Discontinued Model; Breitling discontinued the Emergency Model Watches Circa 2001.(Again this data is incorrect) So why state "present" in the listing
Gender: Men's Generally yes but to be picky not always, I have seen a lady wearing one.
Movement: Mechanical Errr... just wrong
Features: Water Resistant, Chronometer Certified, Alarm, Chronograph, Date, Day & Date, Multiple Time Zone, 18k Yellow Gold, Perpetual calendar Perpetual calendar....Incorrect again. Tthe calendar is a 4 year programmable calendar that needs reprogramming by a Breitling service centre which forms part of the full service.

I don't think it is a partial publicity attempt, it looks more like ignorance or a poor "cut and paste" form a previous listing of the seller.

In the narrative it states "the serial number on the warranty card is off by one letter from the serial number on the watch". Anyone who knows Breitling will know that a Breitling serial number on a watch of this vintage doesn't have a letter in it. Only the Model number has a letter which denotes what metal the watch is made of. Serial numbers are numeric only.
