Well, guess what, when I had made up my mind about the Skyland, bam! I look at the Super and now I am dilly-dallying about which one is it going to be?

Anyone wants to convince me about either of them? And please please, don't convince me to buy both. It is a possibility but spending that kind of monies on two pieces of time might not go down too well with the family, heh heh.

Don't think we'll have too many 'cons' as against 'pros' but there ought to be one USP about either of them that will get me to say, YEAH that's it. That's the one.

Thanks in advance.

Utterly confused soon to be linged newbie :D

A lot has to do with how the two fit your wrist. If you have a big wrist you can pull off the SA, if they are on the thinner side, the AS might work better for you. Put them both on at an AD and see which "speaks" to you ;)

I agree completely with In2Deep, try them both at the same time! If that was what you did, then I think you already have set your mind, even if you haven't realized it yet. And remember you buy the watch for you and you only, not because of what other people might think or like!

With that said, I prefer the SA, I like it's size and the overall appearance. ;)

Another vote for try them and seeing which shouts at you the most. If you haven't tried them both on (or even if you have quickly), I'd recommend taking a bit of time over it. Wear it in the shop for a few minutes. What can seem too big when you initially put it on can very quickly become ideal. And what initially seems fine can quickly feel too small. It's an odd thing, so as I say, take you time when trying them. Any AD worth his salt will be happy to spend a few mins while you get comfortable with a watch.

But if you want a personal opinion, I'd have to say the SA as there's nothing else quite like it in terms of presence. If you want a USP, then for the SA it's its size and presence. The Skyland is very close and a really great watch, but it's a bit more "regular" than the SA.

What a dilemma! I went through the same thing. I was sure on one watch for the longest time. A few weeks later, I changed my mind and went for another watch. I changed my mind again and I ended up buying a watch that, initially, I had not cared for.

Long story short.... I am glad I waited and tried them all on. That made the difference. I love it!

 While it's officially "Unique Selling Point" (or sometimes "Unique Selling Proposition"), I think "Ultimate Shiny Piece" is much more in keeping with the SA!

I initially thought that the Super Avenger might be too big for my wrists. I went to my AD and he only had a Skyland and it really didn't "speak" to me. I ordered a Super Avenger based on everyone's comments here and boy, I am glad I did. It is awesome. I have it on my wrist right now!

Good luck!

First off I must say that sometimes life is great! Here we all our helping another "Breitling friend" decide which Breitling to purchase. That means to me that for right now life is pretty good in all of our worlds and we have time to enjoy things like watch collecting......ok I'm off my little happy soap box , now to the watches

First you must decide what you will be wearing it mostly for. Your wrist size also you must consider. I have had a buddy of mine of my son come with when looking at watches and they will put the watch on their wrist ( their wrist size is close to mine) and I will stand back and look at it from that angle as well. Sometimes just laying on the counter or your own wrist does not give that final vote in your mind. Weight also you must consider as well, like Driver8 said wear each for a little while in the store, one will sing to you. AND THE GREAT THING IS.....this time next year plan on buying the other!!!! Good luck my friend!!

I currently own the Avenger Skyland. You must remember that this is still a big watch at 45mm, if you are factoring in the difference in sizes. I find that in a corporate/work setting this watch does not seem to attract as much attention as say the SA or big watches like it. The AS fits very comfortably and is my daily wearer. I can understand the urge to go big with the SA, as I have a new model on order as we speak. I would say that if the SA speaks to you the most, but you are still a little worried about the size, just buy it. Then you wont be wishing you would have gone bigger. You can always do what I am doing, just buy both of them! Good luck with your decision.

They are very similar, so it really comes down to size, for the most part. My wrists are a shade under 6.75", and I tried on the SA just for kicks. My worries were confirmed when I saw how huge it was. I love big watches, but it was completely unreasonable. If I had a bigger wrist, I would have gotten it though. I ended up with the skyland, which is still very large, but much more reasonable.

Anyways, try them on and see. You might be surprised at how easy it is to come to a decision. You might immediately not like on of them as much. I definitely wouldnt buy sight unseen with these two though. A chronomat is the kind of watch you can buy like that.

Both pieces are very similiar in terms of comesetics with lil stuff here and there....

I think what it will boil to ultimately is trying both on and seeing which piece looks best...

Thanks a ton for all your replies! I have to congratulate a few who painstakingly help others on here. The camaraderie is brilliant.

Well, coming to the watch specs, I haven't tried either of them, so I will have to do what everyone on here has said. TRY THEM ON FIRST!

After many years after 'growing' up have I had to use a measuring tape to measure my......err wrist :D. Its around 7 1/2 to 8 inches. So the SA might not look so bad right off.

And on the subject of where I have to wear them to...I am into creative / media / advertising. So, I don't think I am compelled by a corporate attire. So big or slightly smaller won't make so much of a difference.

So, that sums it up. I am passing through Singapore tomorrow and intend to check out Breitlings at the duty-free. If I like something on my way back from Australia before the month ends, one of them will be mine!

Cheers.
