For the last month I've been looking at Ulysse Nardin watches. In particular the maxi marine diver titanium. Any of you folks have thoughts you can share regarding the brand or model?

Most of them are modified ETA movements, and for me the designs are a little hit and miss. I do like that piece and have been tempted a few times with a decent discount. Quality is generally pretty good, I haven't heard of too many horror stories on the mainstream movement models.

I'm mostly with Roff. I like some of the models and hate others. From a larger brand standpoint, I think highly of UN. I'd definitely buy one at the right price. I don't see them often in the wild, which I like about the brand. I haven't heard anything bad about UN's quality or service.

I owned a 40 mm gmt model. I thought the build quality was very good and mine had as bright a lume as any watch I have owned. I sold mine as part of sell-off for a Navi I had always wanted. I am hit or miss on a lot of their designs and I think the pricing is high, but I would like to have another someday.

I've always had a thing for the maxi marine divers, especially the rhodium color dial version. I just can't quite seem to pull the trigger on one.

:yeahthat UN is one of those brands that if something hits the spot for you then you can do a hell of a lot worse. However the ETA base movements, while being perfectly fine, are nothing to get specifically worked up about, and as Roff said, some of the designs are a bit hit and miss. But generally I'd say they're a good solid brand that you most definitely will NOT see on everyone's wrist. (In fact you'll probably be very lucky if you EVER see one on anyone's wrist outside of WIS environments!)

Not big on the brand. Designs are too busy. I'm a "less is more" kind of guy.

I like them, and have been tempted by the Maxi Marine Diver a few times in the past. They're too hard to get here though, and I've never found one for a price that seemed like good value for what it is, but I'd be happy to own one.

I like the Maxi Marine but it isn't something I could wear daily like a Chronomat or Superocean/Avenger

Like them sorta? They aren't big enough for me. Since I try to stay 45mm +.
Last time I looked at one they were quite expensive even with a discount it an eta based watch imo

I like the Maxi Marine line but the other models don't do anything for me. I tried a bunch of them on at a dealers store in Vegas and have to say that the black, blue and white versions looks better in person to me. If they weren't down a ways on my wish list I would probably already own one of them.
