A friend of mine wants to buy a Breitling watch from an AD but was told that the COSC certificate that comes with the watch says "eWarranty Identification". My friend said there was a white label affixed to the top right area on the certificate with the watch serial number printed on it. For my Breitling, my serial number is printed on the actual certificate. I'm confused. What does this mean? Is this a refurbished watch that the AD is trying to sell my friend? Thanks for you assistance.

I've never heard of that - do you have a picture?

Sure. I'll see what I can get and post over the weekend. Many thanks for your quick reply Roff.

Very odd, but I can't imagine an AD would try anything underhand as it could easily cost them their Breitling contract. I'll be interested to see the pictures.

Here is an edited photocopy of the original (to protect serial# info). Color copy is ok and photo is taken with an iPhone camera...but should be good enough. I've never seen an e-warranty before. Thoughts?

That looks to me like someone has played fancy with the papers. Wouldn't be surprised if under the stickers was a COSC for a different watch!

:watchout:

That was actually provided by BUSA. Watch was stated to be new and that was the "internal" documentation provided.

Thyen I would ask BUSA for an explanation - if you ever try to resell the watch the buyer is going to be looking for a 'proper' COSC.

Very alarming. I just sent an email to Gerhard, Technical Director, at BUSA. Thanks Roff.

That looks like a scan of a weak inkjet copy...it's lacking color and texture you should see and it looks mad sketch...it doesn't look professional at all either, which seems unlike Breitling's formal level of professionalism...

As I wrote earlier, it is an iphone picture of a photocopy of the hi-res original. I had to make a copy so the certificate# and serial# could be blocked out for security purposes. The "e-warranty" is printed on the document but the watch serial # was printed on and affixed to the hi-res original on a white label. Question was has anyone ever seen an "e-warranty" identification before? The actual document does have the color and texture you described. If necessary, I can make a better color copy for you guys (if you think it would help) but I just wanted to conserve my printer ink....

Or just take a photo of the original and block out the serial number in software.......

Ok..here is the front and back. I am limited to uploading only 200KB so if you want a higher res file then I need more upload capability. I attempted to upload the back view but it is 222KB---which again is too large so I had to cut it down to 33KB. The "e-warranty identification" is actually printed on this document. The watch serial number (blacked out) is printed on a white sticker that has been affixed to the document. I held up the document to the light and looked at the backside to see if the white sticker was covering over another serial number--as Roff suggested---and no it is blank. I have already sent an inquiry email to BUSA to see if an original COSC certificate can be issued. Have any of you seen this type of certificate and will it affect resell value??
