So my wimpy 6.5 inch wrist and the normal Breitling deployant for the leather straps don't get along. It's too long for my wrist and it is sharp...it hurts. I hate it. BUT, I love the deployant buckle used for the Ocean Racer and Diver Pro 2 strap. It is super comfortable on my wrist. With that said, I'd prefer not to cut all my custom straps in the event I used one of the double butterfly deployants or a tang or ever sell them. So has anyone tried a retrofit for this to allow it to take leather straps? It is so, so, so comfortable and it looks so good that if I could get one to retrofit I'd buy a second one even at $300 a hit.

I think the fixed keeper would get in the way...

There are some custom options out there...but an OEM insert would be awesome if it worked..

The strap side with the hole for the tang buckle would be easy to put on and maybe with a smaller strap it might work but there would still need to be some sort of clamping system to secure it. Probably the easiest direction is for the strap side with the multiple holes to go under the other side. I am thinking add two small pieces to the middle hinge so that when the buckle is closed shut those hinges apply pressure to the other side of the band, locking it into place regardless of how loose/tight it is worn.

LingMan had a leather smith rework a deploy strap to fit the rubber deploy clasp. Where the hell is that dude anyway? He was a hoot.

I have seen Jeanna at stonecreekstraps.com make a strap to specifically fit that deploy. Might even still be a picture on her website. She is an AZ local.

Pretty sure it will involve cutting, gluing and stitching, though. The leather deploy is too big for my puny wrists as well and I just buy Breitling short tangs and use after market butterflies too. A 1 or 2mm hole punch works well for a micro adjustment between fixed holes if you get the deploys with a thin pin. And as a bunch of guys here will attest, it doesn't effect the re-sale much. 20 straps, mailed all over the world. Watchfred must have scooped 6 or so before the ink was dry on my post.

She did and they are straight up gangster. She's making one for me now actually, mind you it is for a different double deployment. Depending how well it fits, I may see if she could re-rig it. Is the 1-2mm hole punch a speciality watch type or just the standard 1-2mm they list with tools?

As far as it not hurting value, that is interesting...I figured it would kill it but you guys would know. That makes me feel a little better about cutting it!
