I think it should be rephrased to "within the current/past collection..." Driver8 considering a Jacob & Co made my stomach turn.

 I don't think I will EVER see a Jacob & Co that I like, but as I said, never say never.

I'm in the 'never say never" camp. When Breguet as I knew it was the simple, smallish but classic three-hand strap watch, I would have said never. Since I learned more, I bought and sold a XXI and would love to own the right one again some day. I never "got" AP until I test-wore mine for a a few days. The only reason I could see selling it at this point is how much it eats up my watch budget and the fact that our office dress code loosened up (for me, its primarily a long sleeve shirt watch, and I'll be wearing them less)

I don't see myself with a Patek or a B&R, but I won't say never. I would have told you at one time I wouldn't wear a Montblanc, but I have looked very closely at a sport model that I wouldn't mind owning. A year ago I might have said Zenith, but they have made great changes to their lineup and I have a growing appreciation for the El Primero movement and the old Rainbow Flyback. Tag is improving its lineup in an apparent attempt to fill the price point abandoned by Breitling and Omega. I nearly bought one a short time ago and I would have told you "never" a year ago.

Companies change, my needs change, my knowledge of watches changes, and I change. Never say Never.

All you guys that keep using the word "never", i never said "never" in my posting....LoL..

I honestly was wondering if i was missing something on the brands I said didn't appeal to me. Know I'm seeing a common theme. Patek is not a brand that seems to have missed the mark. But i wonder if it's a common issue among us Breitling lovers.

Breitlings and Pateks are at completely opposite ends of the design spectrum so not much surprise that there is little overlap.

My issue with Pateks is that I am not prepared to spend the kind of money on a watch that I would need to spend to get a model that I like.

There is not a single brand that I would reject. There are many that don't appeal right now based on their offerings and my tastes, but who knows how that will change. I consider it unlikely that my tastes will align with Jacob & Co.'s offerings at any point, but never say never!

Couldn't have said it better. To be honest price and lack of knowledge is more likely to stop me than anything else.

Yeah that. Indeed that is precisely how I answered it, otherwise it is simply unanswerable - based upon offerings to date. If not, each one of us has to take the cop out route. Maybe I read to much into the OP's question, assuming reason, but I choose to believe that is what he meant.

It's the people who make comments like this who are the ones who know squat about watches. An idiotic generalization that has been proven wrong by the very members of this forum who own and have owned Rolex watches.... who actually know quite a bit about watches.

I agree with Fear, I'd never wear a Hublot.

Bell and Ross I would not wear, I feel they have a childish type look to them.

I can appreciate them - I went to a very nice Patek event a couple of years back - but they're just too dressy and generally too small for me. I like what they represent more than what they are.

I think the issue with Patek is primarily cost. Before a Calatrava I would be just as happy with a Blancpain Villaret or a JLC thin piece. I have tried on a solid gold Nautilus and thought how happy I was with my Royal Oak. They make some fabulous complications, but the cost and resale just seem a bit overblown, compared to other tremendous watchmaking houses. I don't think people dislike Patek. I do think (and this is just my speculation) that people believe Patek isn't worth the money, compared to other brands out there.

i will say that PP does have some nice offerings but some that are definitely not my style. I would love to own anything in the nautilus range

Why not use my entire quote vs doing a little convenient editing? I said "in most cases." Evidently that must hit close to home. My experience is the Rolex wearers I've encountered know very little about what's on their wrist other than what it cost. I peruse the Rolex forum sometimes and know they take shots at Breitling owners and their blingy watches too. Simply, I just haven't encountered a Rolex owner that knows anything about watches. Sorry if you have a hard time with that.
