Continuing from my last post, for starters I would advertise the V72 watch something like this and if it bought 6k after that than the buyer would have made an informed decision, offcourse there is more detailed info that can be added in based on detailed attributes of vintage watches like this http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t ... light=list. Plus I see that the watch came with a original(?) strap and box so is not right not to sell a vintage with things it came with http://forums.watchnet.com/index.php?t= ... msg_572742 since that takes away from the character of the watch

Reference: VINTAGE 1955 VALJOUX 72 BREITLING AOPA PILOT'S NAVITIMER pre 806

Dial: Redone. Repainted in a style not original to the V72 pre 806 with no AOPA markings, has been relumed

Crystal:

Hands: Redone, relumed

Sliderule: Redone

Case: Previously polished,(light/heavy?), correct markings, serial number?, any scratches/dings/etc.

Movement: Correct markings, V72 movement

Bracelet/Strap:

Servicing info:

Watch History(if any):

B&P (if any):

Kurt, none of us thought the watch was authentic, just surprised a V72 could fit into a mid-60s case ?

Of course you didn’t think it was authentic, and it was not to be rude in any way, in my world a watch like that is just a complete waste of time.

But just to comment on your question as to how they made it fit into the case.

I don’t know if it’s a late 50 or mid 60’s case, but I guess that with the right tool and knowhow most things is possible.
