Below is a link to my review of the SuperOcean Abyss.

I appreciate that this isn't "hot of the press" but I've been chipping away at it for about three months now.

I also appreciate that this watch may not be most popular of Breitlings.

After wearing it for sometime I like it a lot more now.

I hope you enjoy the review anyways.

As always comments and constructive criticism are always welcome.

As always, very nice prose Mr Ricardo. Much like my response to your GMT review, the watch most definitely isn't for me, but I always enjoy reading your words.

I really like the new bezel. But I wouldn't mind if it had a luminous marker at the 12 o'clock position.

Great review Rick, and while it's not for me I can appreciate the appeal of this one far more than the Buck Rogers style which simply isn't growing on me. However, the lack of a bezel pearl is a glaring oversight in a watch that claims to be a diver and that's something that I will never understand - blatantly putting design ahead of function from a brand that prides itself on Instruments for Professionals.

Well written Rick :-) Have to agree with the others that the styling isn't for me, but still a nice watch.

Ive got one, and couldnt really care less about the lume dot. Its something that I will realistically never use, so its useless (likely to 99% of buyers, most of which probably dont even know what a dive bezel is). My problem is that the 60 mark should have some kind of arrow. As it stands, the arrows tip is right at the center of the 6 and the 0. Fine, but a quick glance just doesnt work snce you have to start honing in on the actual mark.

Having owned the previous SO design I gasped in almost disbelief when I first saw what had replaced it and didn't like it at all. Now however I have one as well - SO 44 - I tried it on in a dealer for fun and it looked simply fantastic on my wrist. So now I have the best of both worlds old and new and love them both. Great review.

I have to acknowledge that the colour is actually called "Abyss Silver" in the catalogue but I still think it looks white, which it definitely looks in your photo as well.

I may be biased though because, as I mention in the review, I like the white wall tyre analogy. :)

Great review! I have worn the new Superocean a few weeks ago. Still not sure about the new bezel.

The AR coating makes it look white. When I picked mine up I thought the chapter ring was white and they ordered me the wrong one, but a tip of the watch showed a different light angle and the silver comes through!!!!!!!!!!! Great review !!!!
