See the ding between 10 and 11 on the shiny ring inside the bezel? Is that repairable or replaceable without having to replace the entire case?

You'd be able to get it dressed out and polished but it looks quite deep so it may still show as a depression - especially as you'd know it's there.

The bezel can be replaced by Breitling or an approved maintenance centre.

Worth trying to get it polished out first to see if you can live with it.

If you get it changed keep the old bezel.

Unfortunately RJRJRJ, that ding is in part of the actual case, not the bezel at all. :( That means all you can do it reduce the look of it by polishing it out, but as BB said it looks quite deep, so you will still see a hint of the depression. Breitling may be able to do something with it so it might be worth giving them a call.

Ah.........just looked at my Aerospace which is similar construction. I see what you mean Driver8.

Yes - well - mmm.............not quite so easy then. Perhaps Breitling could remove the bezel and skim the damaged lip all round to reduce the impact of the ding. Unlikely as they would probably tend to replace rather than repair.

Well done Driver8 - King of Ling

:D

I had a very similar ding between the 12 and 1 position.
I used a dremel to polish it out. it left a slight rounded edge but you really have to look at it to see it- much much better than the nasty looking ding.

Use a soft wheel with white jewlers 'rouge' and just take it very slowly.

worked for me :D

Its not actually that big of deal as I usually dont really notice it too much. The bigger issue at hand now, is getting replacement screws for the bezel, as ive basically massacred mine while removing them. I guess I should really stop trying to fix things myself.

I see you have another one, but smaller, close to 6. Your AD or service center should be able to give you the bezel screws for free.

That's the "chimney", and it is part of the case, my Avenger Seawolf has several chimney dents. It was noted on service trip to BUSA and it took me hours of googling to figure out what the heck the term "chimney" meant as referenced on my service estimate sheet.

When you think of it, the case is there to protect the beauty that is inside. If you want it to be perfect you can't enjoy it. I am a perfectionist and it was hard for me to stomach my first ding, then the second, third, etc.. My AR coating has a couple of scratches which sometimes you see sometimes you don't. BUSA quoted $320 to replace the crystal when it was in the last service and I said to myself, why bother? It is just going to get scratched again.

I will have to post a pic of mine next time I get out the camera. I have a big one in the exact same place on my SA only mine covers almost that entire segment between 10 and 11. I was pissed when it first happened. I was walking in blockbuster and hit it on the shelf next to me. Then yesterday got to close to a foe brick wall in a restaurant and hit the exact same spot again. I try to be cautious of this and I often find myself walking with my watch against my backside when I am close to something harmful. Oh well I guess I gave it some character.

I had a ding on the same piece, it wasn't that deep, but it has now completely disappeared thanks to a (free) polishing by the AD.

It might be a good starting point to at least minimise the look of it.

Did BUSA repair the dents or replace the case? Or did you just leave it like that? If they replaced/repaired it, what was the cost?

@Roffensian

I took it to my AD, and they were saying that because its so deep, the crystal had to be removed, which made it a lot more complicated. I didnt want to pay a lot of money since it doesnt bother me that much. If they can take care of it during its first service that would be good enough.
